Rare COPPER 1955 KitchenAid Mixer (Hobart) 3 C original bowl and owner manual
KitchenAid introduced new colors in 1955. Including chrome and copper, the latter two were more expensive and fewer were produced. Manufactured by Hobart Mfg. Co. Troy, Ohio. This mixer is in very good condition. The power cord is fully intact with no cracks or breaks, does not heat up with the machine running. Dimensions: 13 1/2 inches tall. Base is 12 inches front to back and 7 1/2 inches across. The locking plate on the base is completely intact and the bowl locks securely into it. The beater clears the bottom of the Pyrex bowl as recommended in the manual. Which is in very good condition, the bottom front corner is dog-eared. The motor runs smoothly through all 10 speeds. The accessory access port is clean- with lubricant- and the securing knob is intact with no damage to the threads. The finish on most of the mixer is in good condition. ... moreThere are areas. Which I have attempted to show in the photos, where too vigorous cleaning/polishing with an abrasive, has worn away some of the copper finish. There are some fine scratches and marks on the finish which are from normal, expected wear on an appliance that was used but cared for and it is 59 years old. This is a Hobart 140 quart V1401 mixer. Serial number 31-1117-540. We are upgrading to a larger mixer size and no longer need this unit. It is in good used condition and has an new clutch and all new belts($1800 parts and repair) It is currently in use at our bakery in Mount Juliet, TN. We use it to mix a variety of batters including cake, cheesecake, brownie, and pie. We also mix some soft doughs(no bread) and crusts. It was last painted in November 2013 with an industrial grade metal paint. It has been well maintained by our maintenance technician and is ready to go to work. KitchenAid/ Hobart K45SS mixer. Includes K45 stainless steel bowl with K45 pouring shield. Whisk, beater and dough hook. Very good condition. The mixer shows normal rubs. Scuffs and signs of use. The accessories are clean and show minimal wear. I haven't tested this mixer under load or used it to actually mix anything. But I did test the motor and it ran smoothly on all speeds. The speed control lever didn't have any obvious issues. However, this mixer appears to be old, so it may need lubrication or servicing or whatever it is that you do to an older KitchenAid mixer to make sure it continues to work well.
