Vintage 8/8 Wade & Butcher's "The Celebrated For Barber's Use" Straight Razor SR
For your consideration. A restored Wade& Butcher"The Celebrated For Barber's Use" straight razor. This razor needs no introduction. I personally disassembled, cleaned, sanded, buffed, and repinned this razor. Everything is original, including the brass bullseye collars and scales. This razor measures 8/8" wide with a 1/4 hollow grind and a notched point. It has been honed on my select grade La Veinette Belgian coticule leaving a buttery smooth edge. The only reason I am selling this razor is because I have more than one. The two noticeable flaws would be the hairline crack in the blade near the heel and the scales were beginning to delaminate. I was skeptical of the crack in the blade at first, but I have shaved dozens of times with this razor resulting a fine shave every time. I could have rescaled this razor in some ... morenew horn scales, but decided to keep them as original as possible. So I stabilized the delamination, sanded, and finished them and they are just as strong as they were brand new and actually have quite a bit of character. The razor will be oiled for transport. I believe this was a advertising piece that hung in a butcher shop or general store I don't believe it was made to cut anything but made strictly for advertising? because the edge is very dull and has some waves and seems light for it's size(see photo's) the blade where it inserts into the handle is a little loose when you pull on it. I believe it's from the late 1800's or early 1900's due to the fact that Lestershire N.Y. was renamed Johnson City in 1916 so it would have to be earlier then that interesting piece of advertising Please see photo's to make your own determination on condition

WWI German Mauser Model 98/05 butcher knife bayonet with sawback removed. WK&C marked, made in 1915 and marked on the spine of the blade Crown/W/15. The sawbacks were officially removed during WWI. The scabbard is made by Mauser and marked at the throat of the scabbard, also painted black as was often done. Bright blade in super condition. Overall the bayonet is in very nice condition, patina on the hilt which is usual with its age.

I have a vintage Wade& Butcher straight edge razor for your bidding. The blade is marked Wade& Butcher Sheffield England. The blade is etched"You Lather Well-I'll Shave Well" The razor is used and has normal wear. The blade is tight and has some areas of tarnish/discoloration. The side handle on one side has a crack thru the bottom pin. The sides show wear. I never tried to clean or restore the razor. This is how I bought it years ago. The top is 2 1/4" square except for the one corner on each(see photo) These neat legs most likely came from a table. Up for SALE is this super FANTASTIC 7/8 Wade and Butcher heavy blade in super gorgeous creamy golden Ox horn scales. The razor was taken apart. Cleaned disinfected and put back together in this gorgeous set of scales. These Honey OX scales are simply gorgeous and are a work of art in itself. The scales measure over an inch at the base and the blade fits perfectly between them. The blade shaves excellent for me but could require a touch to suit your preference.
