It also has a 1mhz crystal calibrator and a 100khz derived from it to improve dial accuracy from +/ 1.5% to +/ 1% The 400hz audio tone can be obtained from an external jack or used to modulate the RF signal up to 50% The six step attenuators and oscillators are fully copper shielded to reduce spurious radiation and allow low level RF output signals to be generated. The HP 5257A Transfer Oscillator is a plug-in module for 5345L. 5246L or 5247M HP counters; it extends the frequency of the base instrument to cover 50 MHz to 18 GHz. Input sensitivity is 100 mV up to 15 GHz, 140 mV up to 18 GHz. It has a N-type coaxial connector. 3-digit thumb-switch ... moreharmonic selector.
