But the sound of the input signal modulating an internal oscillator. It contains a VCO with continuously variable waveshape, and the capacity to modulate that Oscillator in the following ways: the VCO can be hard synced by the input signal- The VCO can be frequency modulated(FM) by the input signal- The VCO frequency can be modulated by an envelope follower which tracks the dynamics of the input signal- The Amplitude of the VCO also tracks the dynamics of the input signal Hard sync is a classic analog synthesis technique where the start of an oscillator’s cycle can be reset by another. The oscillator ... morebeing synced takes on the frequency characteristics of the other oscillator. And when its frequency is swept, it reinforces the harmonics of the fundamental frequency. In the case of the FreqBox, the input signal is used to reset the FreqBox’s VCO. FM is a technique used to get really rich sounds from simple waveforms. Vintage Morley Tel-Ray Pedal VCO Volume Compressor
Vintage MORLEY pedal. Works perfectly for a +20 year old pedal. Heavy duty cord. Bought this a year ago and never really used it. TIme to thin the herd a bit. It's a big boy and might be the most solidly made pedal I have ever seen. A chrome TANK! Here is an in-depth review I found online. Morley VCO: This is a vintage gem from the early days of classic rock. It's a giant shiny chrome-plated volume pedal combined with a compressor. I have to admit I am predisposed to love this thing just because it looks so cool. Like most of Morley's earliest pedals. It uses an optical element for the treadle control, instead of a gear or pulley like most other wah/volume-type pedals. This means it is not subject to the same type of mechanical wear-and-tear as those others, and it will never get the scratchy sound of a dirty/worn pot. There is ... morean on/off toggle switch for the whole thing, but there is no separate bypass for the volume control-when the unit is switched on, the volume pedal is always engaged. And it's an active device, so your signal is buffered whether the compressor part is switched on or not. The volume control is great: smooth and with a useful, natural sweep. The only problem is the treadle's pivot position relative to your instep makes it painful to do fast tremolo-like sweeps. But it's good for slow swells and fadeouts. The compressor part is not optical. It uses a CA3080 VCA like the Ross/Dynacomp family. However I've been informed that the circuit is not a Ross/Dyna/Keeley type, but instead is closer to one of Electro-Harmonix's older designs. It only has two knobs: one that increases the level of your signal going into a fixed threshold(this controls the amount of compression) and the other is make-up gain. The preset attack and release times are both a lot faster than the Ross/Dyna types have, so it has a very smooth note attack and then it lets go quickly. The fast release, combined with the high noise floor, means it"pumps and breathes" quite a bit. There is a

Module A-111-1(VCO 2) is a voltage controlled oscillator. The VCO has a range of about 12 octaves. And produces four waveforms simultaneously: pulse(rectangle) sawtooth, triangle and sine waves. The VCO's frequency is determined by the position of the range switch, tune and fine tune controls, and the voltage at the two pitch CV inputs, CV 1 and CV 2. Footage(the octave of the fundamental) is set by the Range control, which has seven octave steps. The Tune control is used for coarse tuning, and the Fine control for fine tuning of the VCO pitch. The A-111 can be modulated by both exponential and linear FM(frequency modulation) You can control the pulse width of the square wave either by hand, or by voltage control- Pulse Width Modulation, or PWM for short. A Pal Electronics VCO tuner that was removed from a working estate station I received. The unit was connected to a Courier Centurion transceiver and all was working before it was removed. I do not know how many other radios this unit will run on but i am sure it can be looked up on the web.
