Swaptronics germanium fuzz face pedal.uses two 2N404 transistors. Nice build quality and sooo easy on the pocket book. Internal trmmer inside for tuning tranny voltage. I purchased this pedal because of price and wanted to see if it sounded like my favorite fuzz.the Oxfuzz( which has the 2N404 transistors) It was pretty close but did not have the low end that the Ox had. BUT it does now! I replaced the.01 output cap with a.1 mullard tropical fish(like the Ox has)and there it was! Nice full. Smooth fuzz. The difference now is very subtle.only can tell the diff when A/B testing. Pedal is like new. perfect. Shipping in the USA 5.00 priority. International.ask first. This is right from a local estate. A very early germanium transistor model that was wired in a similar fashion to the tube amps of the time. These classic germanium transistors have a very desireable vintage tone quality. The tolex still looks nice with a few modest wear spots. Speaker is original and working fine. This has a nice space age design to it and is all USA made with that classic 1960's sound. Also comes with the original manual which is actually hard to come by. Components date 1964-65 and are very delicate. This is not a stompbox. Red rocker switch turns Fuzz on/off. White rocker switch bypasses Fuzz and passes signal though to amp. On/Off Volume dial self explanatory. Attack dial smooths out fuzz as you turn it down. Turn it up and sounds like the intro to Magic Carpet Ride. ATOMIC AGE "DISASTERADIO" GERMANIUM DIODE CIRCUIT NON TRANSISTOR IN THE BOX
From the ATOMIC AGE here is a GERMANIUM DIODE CIRCUIT RADIO called DISASTERADIO in the original box. It's in a very cool shade of lime green. This radio comes from around 1958-59 at the apex of the Atomic Bomb scare. No cracks. Chips or hairline cracks in the casing. Virtually scratch/gouge free. I tried to get it to work but no sound came out of the earbud. I couldn't get the back cover off and didn't want to break anything so I don't know how the chassis looks. I think the antenna bar is loose and moving around inside- you can hear a rattling sound. There are a number of marks on the back that seem to have melted into the plastic. Pretty typical for these kinds of radios to have that kind of minor damage. The tuning dial is in excellent condition. All of the cords- for the antenna- and for tuning in stations are in excellent ... morecondition. All in all a VERY RARE germanium radio. Very very few of these are around. A matched pair of vintage germanium 2n1309(PNP for positive ground like original FF) transistors for your Fuzz Face DIY project(the socket shown in the picture is not included but can be added for $1.25 each) These are used parts snipped out of an old electronic devise and are in really good shape. Vintage 1967 WESTERN AUTO Germanium Transistor-based Amplifier w/ Tremolo
This 1967 Germanium Transistor-based guitar amplifier is in excellent condition. Aside from a few small nicks in the tolex(see photos) It looks good as new and is in perfect working order. It was recently serviced at AZTech Electronics in Watertown, MA where a grounded power cable was installed and a faulty tremolo speed knob was repaired. This rarely seen Western Auto model was among the first solid-state amplifiers introduced in the mid to late 60's along with its virtually identical sister the Kay Vanguard 704. The engineers of the time simply repurposed the circuit from its tube-based predecessors and replaced the tubes with germanium transistors. Which lend the amp a delightfully organic fuzz tone at higher volumes. It features a single 8" speaker, three inputs of varying gain, volume and tone knobs, and a built-in tremolo circuit ... morewith controls for speed and intensity. Including the correct Mullard OC44 Germanium transistor, same as was used in the original 1960s Dallas Rangemaster. Barclay made this pedal with one important and clever improvement. It has a built-in inverter. So it has the advantage of operating from a regular negative ground power supply, just like all of your other pedals. It has no logos or identifying marks of any kind. Just a pretty blue metallic paint job. No one can tell what this pedal is for on your pedal-board. Only you will know. The simple fact is that if thieves don’t know what it is, they won’t steal it. It works perfectly. And has only one knob for simple-as-can-be operation. Just dial it to what ever amount of treble boost ... moresuits you. The green mark you see in the pics will be removed.
