I bought his tube-tester and new/old stock of tubes. And this was in the bottom of the box, so I can only guess that it’s from the same period: 50s or‘60s. There is no manufacturer information on it and I think this is a one-of-a-kind unit he built himself. It’s a cube that measures about 6” and as you can see in the picture it does power up. I’m inclined to think this was for video rather than audio due to the BNC type connectors which were more common for video. Other than that I have no clue whether it works or what it does. The case. My beloved Korg Z1. Second pro keyboard I ever bought(after a Korg N1) is no longer needed. As much as I love the physicality of its XY pad and copious controllable knobs, I've become a softsynth geek out of necessity. I'm really sad to part with it, wanted to keep it as a collector's item, hoping it would"come back" one day. If you are looking for a unique hardware'virtual analog' This is a great one to round out your collection. The 12-voice MOSS engine also does a very nice job of physical modeling, offering an interesting soundset beyond the usual Prophecy-esque basses, pads, and leads. The arpeggiator is also fun to play with, and quite powerful. This Z1 is in great condition. Has sat clean in a smoke-free studio for the past 4 years(but I've had it since 1999) No major cosmetic dings, only slight wear-and-tear ... moreat the edges of the XY pad, everything else looks great and works like a charm. Also comes with a very sturdy black semi-hard case made by Pro Tec. Original print manual also included. The Z1 is like a polyphonic Prophecy in a workstation! It does all the analog sounds and more. This is a great analog modeling synth with 12-voice polyphony. Thirteen waveforms, four LFOs, two resonant filters, two effects units and more. The ability to create unique sounds is endless. The factory patches could use some help, but overall the sound is very nice! It has a fully polyphonic arpeggiator that blows all others away. It has five preset arpeggio patterns and fifteen user patterns. Unfortunately there is no on-board sequencer. There is incredible real-time control available with knobs to control the two resonant filters, and a touch controlled'XY' pad for tweaking patches in real-time.
