You are bidding on a WWII era rotary inductor with Crank Knob and calibrated window reading 3-18 MHz. The coil is 3 inches in diameter and 4.5 inches long wound with 26 turns of number 18( silver plated wire. It is 6" long by 5.25" high by 3 wide exclusive of the shaft. The dial is 4"by 4" x 1.5" deep exclusive of shaft. Both shafts are approximately 1.75' long with a matching insulated coupler to mate the units together. It appears to be in good working condition but could use a good cleaning. I rather suspect that this was part of the antenna tuner on an AN/GRC 26(BC610) antenna tuner.

Thordarson T-19C43 Choke 12 H Henry 300 mA Tube Plate Circuit Inductor Tested
Made in Illinois. USA. Cosmetically, this thing is looking pretty good for its age! Just a few specks of rust at some corners, and a few minor scractches and dings here and there, but overall still retains most of its original luster. I tested this with my LCR meter, at 120Hz and ~0mA. It came up with 9.05H, Q=22.0, DCR=306Ω and ESR=307Ω. So, this is definitely a great item for that tube project or similar electrical creation you've had in mind! So long as you can accomodate the mounting holes, which are 2.75" x 3.25" Overall size is about 4"W x 4.5"H x 5"D. A beast! Note this inductor is rated for 12 Henry at 300mA. So my findings at very low current are definitely within range(the inductance will go up as you apply DC bias) I expect it would land right around 12H at 300mA as designed, though I don't currently ... morehave a test circuit set up to check inductance under load. FWIW, a brand new Hammond 10H 200mA choke tested just over 8 Henry on my LCR, so I think this item will perform spot on. I would expect no less from a Thordarson magnetic that has been well-cared for. I plan to ship this Fedex ground. But you can contact me if you have another preference. It will ship in a box 7" x 6" x 6" that weighs a luscious 9.8 pounds.
