Unit has never been used and is great condition with no paint loss and zero corrosion. Unit checks OK for stated DC resistance. The larger unit has been used and removed from deactivated equipment. It has bent terminals, chipped paint, and one slightly bent from plumb mounting bolt but is otherwise in good condition. DC resistance measured 133.3 Ohms. It should provide many more years of power supply service if operated within stated limits. The 9.6 Henry inductor measures 3-1/2"W X 3"D X 4-7/8 over the mounting bolts. Monster Choke, Inductor 20 Heneries @ 200mA DC for Tube Amplifier PS 6550, 211
Here is a large choke. It was made by Pacific Transformer and has the part number 056-000476 stamped on it, this is the Hallicfafters OEM part number. The EIA code is 1052-6147, 1052 is Pacific and 6147 is week 47 of 1961. It is in very good physical condition, the original semi-gloss black paint looks very good as well. There are no dents in the end bells, there is some surface rust spots on end bells and some on the core. The cloth leads are 5 inches long and 9 inches long. The black color is good and the leads are somewhat pliable. The electrical ratings are measured to be 20 Henrys at 200 mA DC and the DC resistance is 150 Ohms. The inductance is measured with 200mA of DC bias applied. It's not often you find a large choke with these kind of ratings. The choke is enclosed and vertical mounting. It obviously was made for a specific piece of equipment since it is marked with the circuit symbol numbers"L-22-L-23" As it shows no sign of anything ever being soldered to it. It probably came from spares stock for some piece of deactivated equipment. Its dimensions are: 3.75" W X 4" D X 6.3 H over the terminals. It weighs maybe 8-10 lbs. guesstimate) It measures 153.8 Ohms for section 1 and 149.5 Ohms for section 2. It has a few scratches on the paint but is in otherwise pristine NOS condition. The associated equipment was HF(3- 18 mHZ) But I do not know how this maps out to this roller inductor. I see no damage or abuse. This was in a box marked"Hughes" which also contained a Hughes PRC-74 synthesizer and a Hughes Multi-tap Rotary Inductor Selector from either the same or some related unit.
