RCA 50 Inductor microphone 30's/40's W ORIGINAL NBC METAL FLAG & HEADPHONES
Time to find new homes for the mics in my decades-old display case before I head for that great voice booth in the sky. I came by this RCA 50 Inductor microphone about 12 years ago and have had it on display ever since. I never wired it up(even though it has the correct flat connector plug attached) because I just liked the way it looked-it was pretty tough to put one of these old workhorses out of commission. Though, so I'd lay even money that this mic still WORKS. This mic came from RCA in a yoke-mount design although, in this case, the yoke was sacrificed very early on in favor of an INCREDIBLE 4-sided cast metal NBC mic flag! The flag WILL be included in the package and yep, it's absolutely ORIGINAL from the base metal to the paint. It's never been touched up(and I would hope that the buyer would choose to preserve the patina ... moreby keeping it as far from a paintbrush as possible. The bottom of the mic flag originally screwed into those hefty old 1-inch mic stands of the 30's& 40's. Somewhere along the line it was modified with an aluminum NON-THREADED insert that steps it down to the more modern 5/8' mic stand shanks. It secures with 2 hex-head allen setscrews(see the butt shot photo. I'll also throw in the Snyder table stand in the photos, though it's definitely circa 50's-60's. I just never found a stand I liked better. Also included(they came with the mic when I found it) is a pair of magnetic headsets with original cloth cable and one of the ugliest 1/4" tip/sleeve plugs I've ever seen. I KNOW THEY work, cause I just listened to a couple of Brian Setzer tracks through them and they actually sound a heck of a lot better than I thought they would. Although Dr. Dre's got nothin' to worry about from these old-timers. Between the mic's hefty magnet and the cast metal flag this whole rig weighs in at about 4.5 lbs. Description: Air-Dux inductor coil assembly left over from a project. Measures about 5" over all length and is 2" in diameter. The coil is the type used for a band change circuit. It's approximate 10 T.P.I. turns are depressed every other turn so that solder to either side of the depression is easier. There may be a technical reason also for doing this but we just want to point out this type of fixed inductor is used when you want to tap different parts of the coil as the frequency need changes. I've owned it for years and have never done anything to it other than to occasionally replace the battery. battery not included) The circuitry features the desirable"Halo" type inductor. Tropical Fish" capacitors, and BC109b transistors. It appears to be in original condition with only basic repairs to wiring apparent. At some point the original top rubber tread piece shrank and fell off. And was subsequently replaced with a contemporary replacement. The original shrunken piece is included, but is much too small to re-install. The chrome on the treadle piece is in good condition with only minor pitting in places. The bottom cover plate shows lots of aging. And the ... moredecal is crinkled but retains most of its Vox and Clyde McCoy script as shown. The original serial number sticker is mostly intact just above the PATS. PENDING. But the actual number is hard to discern. This wah-wah pedal is marked Thomas Organ Co. Sepulveda. California but was made in Italy by Vox in the late 1960's, most likely 1967 or 1968. It is being sold exactly as represented in the photos. Here is a vintage crybaby wah pedal. made about 70's 80's. it has the stack of dimes inductor as seen on the earlier wahs. And the more sought after ones. this one is in good condition, with some scratches as seen. play like slash in the 80's or Made by jim dunlop after picking up the pedal from Thomas organ History of the pedal Wah-wah—it didn’t take long for every guitarist, producer, and soundtrack composer to realize that they needed that sound. These definitely sound a bit better than the already very good standard coils. This is all of my smaller value coils in the litz wire. Hello. I am selling one used choke made by Stancor. From an old catalog I found that it is rated at 7.5 Henry at 400 ma. The DC resistance measures 58 ohm. The test voltage is an incredible 5.000 volts. This choke has side mounted terminals but since most transformers/chokes have fairly standard dimensions I would think that the half shell could be exchanged so that the wires run out the bottom. 1970's Siemens WSW 8X2 Portable Suitcase Mixer/Sidecar w/Pultec Inductor EQ
Up for sale is a fully refurbished 1970's Siemens WSW 8X2 Suitcase Mixer. This beautiful little Siemens WSW mixer has discrete preamps. Fully stepped 3 band inductor EQ, stepped/sealed switches throughout, 1% precision metal film resistors, custom wound Siemens WSW input and output transformers on every channel, and a fully transformer balanced/discrete stereo buss. This little mixer sounds better than every other portable mixer I've used and the preamps/EQ are on par or better than anything I've owned from Quad Eight, Spectra Sonics, Langevin, Neve or API. The EQ on these modules sounds just as good as the Siemens Sitral W295 EQ, and is the same fantastic inductor based EQ that was used on the larger Siemens/WSW consoles. 30+ hours went into the complete disassembly/reassembly of this mixer. Complete recapping, cleaning, rebuilding ... morethe PSU and testing all the modules/busses to make sure they meet or exceeded the original specifications. All the faders have been cleaned. After 40+ years only one of the original Siemens transistors had failed and needed to be replaced. All the stepped EQ switches are sealed so they still feel like new and still operate noise free. The original PSU runs of 220V, but a 120V Acopian regulated DC power supply can be supplied for the cost of parts/labor if you are based in the US. The cost includes wiring the European DIN connectors to the I/O method of your choice(XLR, TRS, etc) I have not tested or used the built-in speakers, so if those features are important to you please let me know so I can verify their functionality prior to purchase. Up for sale is an early"blackface" Cinema Engineering 4031B Program Equalizer. The early blackface versions of these Cinema Engineering EQ's are extremely rare and have a different sound than the later versions with the grey faceplate. A few companies made a program EQ of this type: Langevin. Hycor, Cinema Engineering and Altec. To my ears the early Cinema Engineering versions sound the best. Up for auction is my 3KW MFJ Differential- T manual antenna tuner. It will tune just about any antenna to your transceiver and amplifier that can handle 3000 watts of power. The tuner uses a differential capacitor and a very large silver plated roller inductor that lets you tune down your SWR to an absolute minimum. Also features a peak reading or average reading cross-needle SWR/wattmeter with 200W/2000W scales. It also incorporates a large current balun. Very low DCR, very high quality parts from the inventory of inductors in my speaker design lab in the prior century, and have been sitting in a box since 1996.
