Offered in this auction is a lot of three Waterman pens for parts or restoration as appropriate. probably mostly for parts. Each pen is a lever filler and all will need new sacs and possibly j-bars. Two are missing caps. They are as follows. Left to right in the photos: At left is a 5-1/8" remaining) black black pen from the 100 YEAR/EMBLEM family. This is the variant introduced about 1944 with the slip-on cap. It is marked only WATERMAN. MADE IN USA in the barrel imprint. The problems with this pen are the typical missing barrel end due to material deterioration and a cap with a substantial portion of the cap end missing(under the cap ring) That piece still partially present, but a piece of it has been lost since the photo. Trim finish is okay except for the cap ring which needs polished. The nib is the big#17 used on EMBLEMS and 100 ... moreyear pens. but in this case marked with the generic WATERMAN IDEAL 17 imprint. It is a rigid fine in great shape. I'm not entirely sure of the maker of the second pen. It has no cap and no barrel imprint. It is a dark gray pearl and black and while the lever is shaped a little like a WATERMAN. It has no lever box. Additionally it has a coin stack barrel end like many of the Waterman models of the'30's. Gold trim finish is nearly worn away on the lever. It is in this list because it has a nice fine and moderately flexible WATERMAN IDEAL#2 nib. Last is a 32A-V in gray pearl with red streaks. This pen has no cap. It has a good 4 line barrel imprint and barrel end identification of the model. Nickel plating on the lever with some minor pitting. Nib is a WATERMAN IDEAL JUNIOR. This has significant tine separation and is overly flexible. I see no cracks. But some creases at the base of the breather. Some work will be required to bring this nib back. Prior to bidding. Up for bid is a bag of Ideal Trot Line Clips that I found in an old tackle box that belonged to my father's uncle(born 1893) Also included in this box was a Heddon Dowagiac in a wood box and a Heddon Multiple Minnow(both already sold) The clips are in a bag sealed with a staple. Vintage 60s Silver Net Shoulder Purse made by IDEAL
Vintage silver tone shoulder purse made by IDEAL. Unlike other IDEAL shoulder purses like this one. This one is not made of suede or satin. This bag is made of a thick nylon mesh shell with silver tone diamond stitching. The stitching seems to have oxidized with age and the nylon seems to have slightly yellowed as well. The purse opening is a double hinged frame that opens into a square. The chrome is in perfect condition with no scratches. The inner lining is a gray satin with a few stains. There is a very small stain on the front of the purse which is almost unnoticeable. Shoulder chain can be easily tucked into the purse to turn it into a clutch.
