For auction here is a very Early Western Electric type 203-A(later commercial version of VT1) valve dating from around 1916 to 1920's era. It has been tested and shows anode current and emission. See below. The valve number 203-A is seen between the pins on the base of the valve. Vf=2.5 Va=100 Vg=0 Ia=6mA Gm=0.6 All markings are clear and there is a serial number of 103978 on the glass bulb. The resin in the base has cracked. But this has been filled with some sealing wax to stabilise it. It does not at all effect the use of the valve.
