We have for sale some dry cleaning equipment. I will try to describe as well as possible. I am no expert in this field. I am selling it for a friend. He has three presses. They all seem to be automatic. I will list below the makes and model numbers. They are in the back of a stock room. Hi-Steam SVP 24 Commercial Boiler Steam Iron
Up for auction is a used Hi Steam SVP 24 Commercial Boiler Steam Iron for commercial apparel manufacturing and steam cleaning. This item is being sold as is in non working condition. I purchased it in hopes that I could get it working. But then decided to get another model entirely. As it sits I can tell that there was an electrical short that may have caused a small fire near the boiler as there is some singed insulation and melted wires. At least one of the switches on the top left is inoperable. The gauge on the front looks broken. I did some tests on the machine and using the one good switch I was able to determine that the steam solenoid works great. The iron itself does heat up. And the heating element around the boiler also heats up. In my opinion this is a good parts machine. However with a new switch, wiring harness and a few other ... moreparts you could get this running. I did check some prices on a few of these parts at Hi Steam's website, and it looks like you would need to spend about $100 to replace the damaged parts, but this is just an estimate. Additionally. The machine was originally purchased for use on a ship, but was never used. We tested the units operation and it appears to be working properly. Pressing the finger triggers activates the presses downward stroke. When the head contacts the"buck" the machine locks into the"press" position until the operator lifts up on the release handle. The foot control pedals have been custom made and work the way they should. Overall the machine is in good mechanical condition, but it did pick-up some minor corrosion where the paint is scratched. It’s a model PND-5000TAR which has now been replaced with the PND-5000B. Not sure how much this particular one cost, but the PND-5000B which has the same specks retails for $7,999! This piece comes from a local dry cleaning store that went out of business back in 2010 so this wasn’t used much at all. It looks complete but there is no iron– there are additional pieces not pictured I found, like a piece that connects to the bottom– looks like a hammock. The machine weighs about 300 lbs, so shipping isn’t practical– although you could definitely get it delivered freight for around $250-450 depending on where you live.
