The tripod was used with my Canon A1 Digital Camcorder to create family photo-video montages. It has never been used outdoors. But, because it is an exceptional Bogen Manfrotto, it is certainly up to the task if you so desire. It comes with the quick release mounting plate. It is in excellent, clean, precise working condition with the exception of the quick-release lever that needs either realignment or repair of the small spring that locks the mounting plate in place.
