Chrysler : New Yorker leather 1977 Chrysler New Yorker 8,200 miles
1977 Chrysler. approx. 8.250 original miles. I have owned the car since the year 2000. I purchased this car from a historic church in Missouri. Where it was donated by the original owner. Car had about 7.650 miles on it when aquired. Car not a 100 point show car. But very nice. Mostly all original except for tires, wiper blades, spark plugs, fan belts, battery, fuel pump. I drive the car a few times a year. It does have the original radiator hoses installed. Would replace those for peace of mind, they look fine. I have replaced the wheel center caps with new old stock ones because the originals had a few pits on them. Replaced the front door scuff plate with a rare new one because the original may have had a few scuffs. I have spent thousands of dollars to store the car. It has been in storage and enclosed inside of a vinyl automobile storage ... morebag for a few years. I do take it out and drive it sometimes. In running condition. This car belongs in a musem. Please note that this automobile has no body side molding. Seems like about 80% of the Chryslers did have side molding and in my opinion distracts the beauty of the body lines. If you are looking for something to drive several thousand miles a year in. You may find something with 50,000 miles on it for much less. This is a fine car for someone that can appreciate it for the low mileage. I am located in Houston. Texas. Very close to the Port of Houston.Great location to ship out of country. The 1977 inspection sticker is a reproduction that I placed on the car. You can buy those here and perhaps other states for classic cars. The car has been registered and inspected since then. Although it will pass inspection. I have not had it inspected in the last 3 years because I do not want a NEW sticker distracting from the originality of the car, greasy inspectors in it etc. The plates on the car are from 1977 also and registered to the car. Stamped inside the soundhole. It reads Gretsch Super Structure*54(can't quite make out the first two digits. Right off, I want to think it is 1954 because that is likely the year it was made but it almost looks like an 8 there so it's hard to say) Update: I was told this this New Yorker is a wartime model. Reads Gretsch New Yorker on the headstock. Needs all the binding replaced as it is all deteriorated. As well a the pickguard. The plastic on the Kluson Deluxe tuners are bad. Needs a bridge. Has seam seperations and the heel on the neck is seperating from the body. It has a good straight neck. There is alot of checking on the top as well as scratches and a blob ... moreof old laquer that ran down. The back is in nice shape. There is some paint wear on the edges throughout. The inlay position marker blocks on the neck are missing. The frets are good. It needs work but it's a quality luthier project. Email any questions. This is a Gretsch New Yorker I picked up at an auction here in town. It need some work so please look over the pictures so you can see what it needs. All the edging is coming off. The front and the back need glued. The wood is not damaged just coming loose. The head is split on the back side. It has not come through the front. The neck is straight with no damage. D'Angelico New Yorker by Heritage Guitars
This is one of the few D'Angelico New Yorker's made by Heritage Guitars in the early 1990's. I bought it new from the Guitar Center in Hollywood. CA. It was built by the four founders of Heritage Guitars, Marvin Lamb, Jim Deurloo, Bill Paige and J.P. Moats and they signed the label inside the guitar. Serial number 1015. They built it as closely as possible to the original D'Angelico New Yorker specifications. These four luthiers are the men that built the most collectible Gibson archtops when Gibson was in Kalamazoo. When Gibson moved to Nashville these men elected to stay in Kalamazoo and found Heritage Guitars. This guitar has not been outside my home since I purchased it. It has a D'Armond 1100 pickup on it and the pickup jack is through the tail piece. The PUp is attached to the pick guard by a wooden block glued to ... morethe bottom of the pick guard. This Takamine EG416S is simply a wonderful guitar. For songwriters or anyone else looking for the perfect partner for your creative muse. The search is over. The solid spruce top allows the guitar to speak with a voice larger than one would expect. As you can see in the pictures, the back an bottom are simply stunning. The deep, rich rosewood provides a stunning contrast to the most gorgeous quilted maple that you can imagine. The mahogany neck with a 1-11/16" wide nut is extremely comfortable, the action is low and the intonation is spot on. The sealed tuners are gold with black buttons, they work smoothly and hold tightly. Takamine calls this style of body a"New Yorker" It is not"little" like a parlor guitar, but this isn't a dreadnaught either. The upper bout is 10-5/8" wide, the lower bout is 14-1/4" ... moreThis size body is a fingerpicker's delight. The tone is balanced, articulate, and very, very sweet. I'm sure that is in part due to the 25-1/2" scale length. The TP-4T pickup system is excellent, with three bands of equalization, shelved just where you want them to be. The onboard tuner is just an additional plus. This instrument is well set up. I have polished the frets and conditioned the fretboard and bridge. The truss rod was checked and adjusted and the nut slots were polished and lubed. I tested the electronics and everything works exactly as it should. It plays very well. With the action set to 3/32” at the 12 th fret. This guitar has never been previously sold andhas no player's wear at all. It Is without dings or blems. I've inspected it inside and out. And can find no evidence of repair at all. Sadly, Takamine has chosen to stop production of this model. That means they won't be getting any easier to find, especially in this condition and at this price. Included with new favorite guitar is the correct Takamine gig bag. This guitar looks beautiful. No nicks. Dings. or cracks. The New Yorker was discontinued. This sunburst finish has become very hard to find and I doubt there is a nicer used one anywhere. The only cosmetic flaw is the fingernail rash below the sound board. I bought this from friend 3 years ago. In that time a pick has not touched this instrument and I keep the fingernail on my little finger cut short to prevent scratches on all my guitars without pick guards. The rash is only visible under close inspection or with very bright. Direct light. It is strung with Martin Marquis 12s(light) for playing acoustic blues and is as sweet as can be. The case is not original but is high quality and an excellent fit.There are a couple scuffs but no tears or cracks. Up for auction is a Cairns Leather N5A New Yorker Fire Helmet. The date manufactered was August 15th. 1986 and it is a size medium. This helmet is 100% ALL ORIGINAL. This helmet is much lighter and rides much lower on your heads than the new Cairns helmets made today. There are a few places where the paint has chipped and the shield holder is slightly bent. There are some initials on the earflaps that can barely be seen. I never wore this helmet on the job. I bought this helmet from a collector in New York years ago to display leather shields from my collection. Cleaned, posts aligned, rods straightened, tone-holes leveled, all new Music Medic tan kid pads(with metal resonators) and cork/felt installed, then reassembled and adjusted for optimal playability. Vintage 1940’s National“New Yorker” Model Lap Steel Guitar w/case. Features art deco“Empire State Building” shape. Colored Roman numerals on fretboard. Volume knob is within easy reach of the fingers, and a tone knob runs smoothly through a range of tones labeled“Hawaiian” Chimes” and“Harp. Pickup offers plenty of volume and features a wrist rest removable with thumb screws. An Amphenol to standard quarter inch adapter is included so that you can plug in a standard guitar cable. There is normal edge wear on the finish and scratches on the back and sides as can be seen in the photos. The serial number dates the instrument to between 1940-42. This is an original late 1940's or early'50's Gretsch New Yorker mandolin in good condition. There is no serial number on this instrument that we can find. It features a tear drop shaped'A' style body with'f' holes. Spruce top, maple back, sides, and neck, and rosewood fingerboard. All hardware appears fully original, including tuners, marbled pickguard, bridge, and clam shell-shaped tailpiece. The original finish shows some normal playing wear, primarily a few nicks and dings and scuff marks, and light finish checking(sorry for my fingerprints and the light reflections) There are a couple of tight hairline cracks on the back near the binding. As seen in the close-up. The worst one is about 3 inches long, and appears to have already been repaired. There are no cracks in the top, sides, neck, or headstock. Eugene J McCarthy autograph in a book The New Yorker Album Fortieth Anniversary
This item is a mystery to me. Please bid based on what YOU know about this autograph. Not what I think. First of all, I know that there is very little interest or value in these New Yorker anniversary books. This one is pretty clean with just a little wear at the edges. Inside it states that it is a First edition, and was done in 1965. It's loaded with New Yorker cartoons that were done between 1955 and 1965. Now the part that really confuses me. On the first page inside the front cover. With no inscription or explanation, it simply says"Eugene J. McCarthy" It is written in blue ink, not printed. I'm sure that you know that Eugene McCarthy was a prominent political figure and presidential candidate in 1968. I have looked at other McCarthy autographs on eBay and other sites, and have found them either sold or for sale at ... moreprices that range from $6 up to $1500. Further more, no 2 Eugene McCarthy signatures that I found even look alike. Most don't even look similar to each other to my untrained eye. This leaves me unsure about the authenticity of this signature while baffled as to why anyone would forge such a thing in such an odd place. With the signature being where it is, it seems more like someone signing their own book, just so that anyone else using it would know who to return it to. Since the only person that might have been able to unravel this mystery is no longer with us, and that my job is to liquidate this estate, I am simply going to start this auction at $15, and let it sell with no further reserve, assuming anyone wants it at all. No assurance of authenticity on this item, as I have no clue myself. The cover bids visitors welcome to the hotel’s 2,500 rooms“each with bath, shower and radio. The front addresses the brochure to a"Mr. Schoen. The second page describes many of the surrounding shops and department stores. Schedules for theaters, exhibits, performances and sporting events are offered for September, October and November. Unfolding the brochure reveals a marvelous map of New York City, showing all the major venues and hotels of the time. Here's a rare and wonderful classic Ronson Art metal works cigarette and cigar lighter. Of all animals included in the figural lighters Ronson made. This is a pinnacle example. Mostly because in this case, the piece has its"original tusks" This wonderful table lighter Ronson offered in the late 1920‘s. The Ronson Elephant is cast in spelter metal with bronze finish and close attention to detail. This lighter dates to the very early years of Ronson lighters produced at the now famous Ronson Art Metal Works of Newark. New Jersey. The inspiration of this lighter is credited to the popularity of Jumbo. A circus elephant that toured the country with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum& Bailey Circus.
