RARE STITH-KOLLMORGEN USMC M1C GARAND SNIPER RIFLE SCOPE WITH ORIGINAL RINGS
Up for auction is a super rare USMC Stith-Kollmogen Sniper Scope for the M1C Garand Sniper Rifle. The scope eyepiece is marked 4X Double. Stith Mounts S.A. Tex on one line with Kollmorgen Optical Corp. Brooklyn, N.Y. Pat. Pend on the other line. The Kollmorgen is not clear; you can make out the K but the other letters seem to be filled up with paint but it is the real deal. It is marked MC 398-P along the tube and the windage and elevation adjustments are very positive and move freely. It also has the original scope rings which I believe are Griffin& Howe and they are marked T4. Overall the scope is in pretty good condition for its age but as shown in the pictures it does some condition notables. The ends have some dings and scratches with some of the finish knocked off. The optics are clear but as I tried to show there is an issue with ... morethe inside of the objective lens. It is almost like it has an interior crack or smudge/shadow in it. This doesn’t affect the overall clarity looking through it but it needs to be noted. The crosshairs are fine and sharp. I believe that all these condition issues can be fixed at a marginal cost but it would be worth it for this scope. This is a must have for anyone looking to put together a true USMC M1C Garand Sniper Rifle. What you see is what you get. The pictures tell the story.
