Up for auction is this vintage U.S.M.C gas can. The marking on it are as follows"9.5Liters 2 1/2 Gallon" DOT-5L USMC 20-2 12-86" Blitz" The overall condition is excellent and other then a little dirt. The only flaw is a small paint chip in the top(easily seen in the images) Unfortunately I do not have the nozzle that goes with it. Red BLITZ Metal Gas Can Fuel Tank 2.5 Gallon USMC 2 1/2 (1984?) With Spout
Up for auction is a red Blitz fuel or gas can. 2 1/2 gallons(9.5 liters) with pour spout. Paint loss and very light surface rust as seen in photos. Marked on top, beneath handle; DOT-51/ USMC/ 20-2 1/2 84. I think the 84 is likely the year of manufacture. Light surface rust in spots on spout, too. The inside is very clean, and the last photo is my attempt at getting a photo of the inside. Hard to do when the hole is about an inch in diameter and the lens tends to block light from getting inside. But it is clean. Shipped to U.S. only, Parcel Post or Priority Mail. NICE Vintage Metal 5 Gallon USMC Gas Jerry Gasoline Can Blitz *Made in USA*
Please note. The Buy It Now price is for ONE can! These cans are in very good to excellent condition and appear to have been stored indoors since new. Vintage pre-C.A.R.B. cans with no California emissions equipment! Each can may have a few very small paint imperfections. But all cans are free of dents. The paint appears to be original. No sign of rough use, trail abuse or really any use at all, for that matter. Caps are retained by their original chains, and the threads are clean and operate smoothly. Cap seals are in great condition with no cracks. The date code on the bottom of all three cans is USMC 20-5-74. The inside of each can is very clean with minor surface rust. Please check the photos. The rust appears much worse in the photos than in real life. No crusty flaky chunks of rust, just a very light surface coating. Gas and go! This listing is for a 2 1/2 gallon(9.5 L) Vented Blitz gas can. It is thick metal with 1 handle. It is used, and has the original cap, and the original flexable spout. The can itself is vented. The can is in good shape and the inside looks clean, but has a slight gas smell. There is a few scrapes on the bottom but nothing that will affect the integrity of the can. Made in the USA. The Gas can is not a show quality can as it does have some scratches and chips and paint loss but still a very nice straight part and would be great to restore or just use as-is. The can does not leak. This would be a great can for your camping trips of to use around the house or out 4 wheeling. 5 Gallon Metal USMC Blitz Gas Fuel Can Jerry Can DOT 5L Dated 1985 VG inside!
Metal Gerry gas can. BLITZ dated 1985. On bottom says DOT-5L, USMC, 20-5-85. This could use a little more cleaning on the outside, some tape residue and an old white label. BUT.I think it looks better used on back of your jeep rather than a shiny perfect new one. The spout is"unusual" it is PVC of the correct large thread to go into the top of the can, on the other end someone has added a 1" rubber stopper which tightens inside the smaller PVC spout to seal it quite good.looks like anyhow. I have never had gas in it, an estate sale purchase. Inside is REALLY clean, no sludge, no dirt and is perfectly dry and clean with the flashlight. It will ship without any worries of gas fumes but I will plug the opening and shrink-wrap it to further seal it. Check the pictures out. Selling as is with no returns or refunds, please.
