X-Rite model 404 reflection densitometer Up for sale is an X-Rite model 404 reflection densitometer. Very good condition(see pictures) I was playing around with it to see what values I could get and had to read about what a densitometer does. If you're reading this. You probably already know what it is for. I wasn't making much sense of readings of various objects(being more used to RGB values) but once I read the manual about it and made my own(non-calibrated, but interesting) CMY and greyscale sheet, I could see it was doing what it is supposed to do, and the values seemed right too(see pictures) I have not done anything more than a quick calibration(read white) so original calibration has not been changed. It does not come with a calibration color card, but you can buy those or cross calibrate with another instrument. I will send ... moreyou my laminated sheet from a color printer(it has white, gray(at RGB 128,128,128) black, cyan, magenta, and yellow at 100% each, but again, my sheet is just a toy and is not meant to be a calibration card. It had the original NiCd batteries in it. One had leaked slightly but it looks like it only damaged itself. Nothing leaked onto the unit. I recycled those. I used it plugged in with the included power supply/ charger, and it works fine. It doesn't need batteries to run(unless you want it to be portable, then you'll need 6 AA NiCd batteries) It doesn't come with a manual, but you can download one Warranty: 14 days to check out/ test.
