MAZAK SQT 15M MARK II CNC LATHE LIVE TOOLING ON TURRET
You are looking at a Mazak SQT 15M Mark II CNC Lathe with live tooling on the turret. It was manufactured in June of 1995. I purchased this machine from a recommendation from a former employee who knew the mazatrol language. That employee no longer works here and everyone else here is really only comfortable with Fanuc. We wanted to use the live tooling on the turret for a specific job. That job has come and gone. We have had this machine under roof for 3 years. In those 3 years. I had 3 different employees who knew how to program the machine. If you know the language. man is it quick to make a program. I have been told by many people that this machine does not look near its age. I have been told by our Mazak repairman that this is the best condition he has ever seen a machine of this age. This is due to the company that we bought it from ... morehad very deep pockets and whenever it needed any type of maintenance or repair. It got it immediately without concern for expense. The machine did not come with a single live tooling holder. So just after I bought it. I had to put out an additional $12,000.00 for brand new Parlec Brand live tooling holders. We have less than a couple hours on any single one of the live tool holders. So they are basically still brand new. We also had to replace the X axis drive. So that is still like new. The machine came with a collet nose. I am sure it is under roof still but I need to put my hands on it. if I can find it. that will be included with the machine also. We removed the collet nose and put on brand new MWK Brand 8" 3-jaw chuck. Model# ZA6-8-52-27. This is a high quality Japanese chuck. can't remember exact cost but was not cheap either! This machine runs great! You could eat out of the back electric cabinet. I am very sure that whoever ends up with this machine will be very happy with it. This is a heavy duty 29" diameter cast iron face plate for a large metal lathe It has an L-3 back style back/mount with a internal taper and an external thread. The large external thread measures about 10-3/8" with 4 threads per inch This faceplate is rusty as shown; we cleaned up a small section of the tapered bore and it looks very clean as shown in picture#3 As you can see from the included pictures the thread(s) closest to back edge are damaged but there are at least two threads deeper in that go all the way around that are good and without and damage to hold this faceplate on the lathe's taper. This face plate's front face also has some small drilled holes randomly spaced across it's face as shown in these pictures.This face plate is very heavy. Monarch 10EE Precision Toolroom Lathe retrofit w/ AC Motor Drive + Tooling
The Monarch 10EE is one of the best precision manual lathes ever built. Do a google search and see what the experienced machinists say. This American built iron puts the competition to shame. Here are the details. Swing = 12.5" Travel centers = 20" Manufacture Date = 10-1957 This Monarch 10EE lathe was purchased over 15 years ago as a project but we ever got around to doing anything with it. We have tested it since pulling out of storage and it does run however the spindle bearings sound noisy and may need to be replaced. The spindle will run to 2500 RPM. Each axis will run in both directions and at multiple speeds. The long belts are older but in good condition. The flat belt is new. There is a box with some odds and ends such as knobs. Handles, original dial indicator, and more. At some point this machine has undergone a retrofit ... morefrom the original drive and motor to newer technology units. The motor is a Marathon Electric Inverter Duty motor with 5HP. It is run by a DuraPulse VFD on 240VAC power. Manual is included for the drive. The original control lever for the spindle is not hooked into the drive. This can be done by adding some switches at the end of the machine. Currently the machine is controlled from a box located on top. There is control for JOG/RUN. FWD/REV, and a speed adjustment knob in addition to drive power on/off and coolant pump on/off on the box. An E-Stop button is located lower on the machine where the operator stands. I have tested all of these switches and everything works. The paint looks to be epoxy based which is good but it was brushed on and not sprayed so there are brush strokes. It appears the machine was not completely torn down for the painting. We were going to tear it down. Blast all the parts, paint, and reassemble. This would make for a very nice looking finish. The paint was and can still be used as-is. Wo The 330 mm(13" swing by 635 mm(25" between centres Harrison VS330TR was a small. Very well specified toolroom-quality lathe constructed to International Precision Lathe Standards ISO R1708 and BS 4656(UK) and DIN 8605(Germany) For export markets it was also listed as the Model AA, and replaced the previous variable-speed drive Harrison lathe, a re-badged Colchester Chipmaster. The VS330's main feature was a quiet-running mechanical variable-speed drive unit that, in combination with gears and an"inverted chain" drive in the headstock, gave three separate overlapping speed ranges which equated to: 35 to 180 rpm, 180 rpm to 500 rpm and 500 to 3000 rpm. A 2.2 kW(3 hp) 1000 rpm totally-enclosed, fan-cooled motor was bolted, in the usual Harrison fashion, to an adjustable plate fastened to the back of the bed behind ... morethe headstock with(in a very compact arrangement) one variable-speed drive pulley fitted to the motor's shaft and the other to the input shaft of the headstock. The 110-volt electrical-control equipment was neatly built into a single compartment on the left-hand end of the stand, access being through a door protected by a mechanically interlocked isolator switch. Commonly known as the"Black Label" There is no rust on this unit. You will notice some old pitting that was polished off. This does not affect the function or accuracy of this machine. I am a Machinist/Gunsmith, and I know what it takes to rebuild a lathe. This has been completely disassembled, cleaned, polished, oiled, lubed and then tested before assembly. The motor works great. This is ready to plug in and use as soon as you receive it. You get the following items with it: A new high grade double sided counter bore/starter bit; a toolholder. With 5 high quality bits, 2 of which are new and unground, 2 that have plenty of life in them, and 1 that is a little short, but nice. I have include ... morea shim so that the cutters will ride in the holder at the proper height. A Drill Chuck with a Chuck Key. The key is not the factory one, so it is not a pefect fit. There is also a pinion lever; 1 Tommy Bar, and the Milling Column and Adapter, with a 5mm allen key. The motor on this unit is commonly known as the"Big Dutch" and is one of the most reliable ever made. It runs beautifully! Also included is a self centering 3 jaw chuck. A face plate and lathe dog; the grinding arbor and grinding stone; as well as a wire wheel. This machine is ready to go! This baby is loaded! The paint is redone, and in exceptionally nice condition! Notice the locking pin on the lathe head. That gives you, and keeps, a precise 90 degrees. This baby has new belts! The Power Feed is in excellent condition. The box has been reglued where necessary, and a couple coats of polyurethane have been applied. It comes with a 6" three jaw and four jaw chucks, 7" face plate, live and dead centers, a spur(wood turning) two Jacobs chucks, micrometer stop, deluxe steady rest, draw bar with nine 5C collets, various tool holders/cutters, a knurler, a pump and some stainless that may work for coolant, and necessary wrenches. He changed the oil in this every year whether it needed it or not. He passed in 1998 and I've had it since then.I've used it here and there but don't need it. The bench has been repainted but not the lathe.
