Up for grabs is this PARK TOOL BTS-1 bottom bracket threading tool. It comes with english 1.37" X 24 TPI right and left dies. Also available but not included are Italian 36mm dies#693 and a facing cutter. The tool is well taken care of and in great shape. It is also of the older type that the handles are removeable for storage unlike the new version where the handles are welded on. This is a very nice tool and a must for the serious mechanic. Vintage adjustable threading tool for metal rod or pipe
Here is an adjustable threader made by the Beaver Pipe Tools company. Warren, Ohio. It's at least 40 years old. It has settings for 5 different rod diameters. It can be adjusted slightly larger or smaller for each size. It has an interesting construction- there are 8 cutters. Which move in and out so that 4 of them are in use for any selected size. The underside of the tool has a lever that adjusts 3 centering jaws(see last two pictures) NOTE- this tool produces straight threads. Not pipe threads. The 1/2 and 3/4 settings appear to be about 13 TPI, and the smaller sizes about 18 TPI. The cutters will likely have to be sharpened. And the various moving parts oiled so they work smoothly. WELCOME The item up for sale is a vintage or antique cast iron tool. This is"THE TOLEDO" Pipe Threading Machine No. 10-A. I think it's a 1-2.5 inch machine and it spins around and ratches. The hole openings are 2.5" in diameter. Don't know much about it but will answer any questions you may have. Measures 6" tall and 89" wide.
