Very large volumes with extraordinary illustrations by American and European artists on wood and steel. The volumes were published by Appleton and Co. New York in 1875, 18 78 and 1879. These books are 13" by 10-1/4" in fine bindings with gilt-edged pa ges. I don't recall ever seeing ... moresuch fa bu lous illustrations throughout each volume. The books were edited by Bayard Taylor. Each volume contains approximately 490 illustrated pa ges and each volume weighs between 8 and 9 pounds. The bindings show wear as you would expect for the age. But they are completely intact with wear at the corners and edges. The spines are in excellent condition. The pages are in excellent condition with no f oxing. Tears. Folds or marks. These marvelous volumes will be a rich addition to any fine antique books or fine art library. The movement is a very beautiful P.S Bartlett with a nice end stone, 11 large jewels, and nice plates. All plates have matching serial numbers. This item for auction is a antique American Watch Co. pocket watch. The watch is in an 18 size hunting case(missing crystal) with off-set back hinge. The case looks silver. But is unmarked. There is a presentation on the cuvette. The watch was made in 1867 and is complete missing one plate screw. The model 1857 key wind/key set watch started running when wound, but only runs for a short while in dial up. It has been sitting for over 30 years and very gummy. It is jeweled on the top plate so it has a min. of 11 jewels. The dial is fine with no visible chips or hairlines. Everything looks all original on this watch including the hands. This listing is for one(1) used Appleton GR Unilet. The style is a cross pattern with 4x female 3/4 NPT and the cover has 1x 3/4 NPT threads. These four Unilets have had a hole drilled through the back face(please review photos to view the example but also be aware that the location varies on each unit) The Unilets appear to be made of cast iron. There is some rust present as these are used units. The Unilet opening is right around 4.0 inches. The cover is threaded on the 4 inch diameter for attachment to the Unilet. One cable has a female plug on one end and the other end is bare, the other cable has a male and female connector set up for an extension. Th clamp that screws on the back of the plug that has a screw on either side for clamping. One of the ears is broken so you cannot tighten it from that side. Sold as is.
