Parts Timepieces Craft Art watch repairman estates and material house findings from 40 years travels around and about. Scroll down to see the 5 photographs. American 1/2 dollar.900 silver made into a Schutzenfest medal for W. Appleton 1885. Google says the festival was in Bern. Switzerland that year. Small piece of gold for the gunstock and barrel is brass, also looks like there might have been another piece attached that is not there. Original patina- this is uncleaned- two holes where it was part of a larger fob or chain.

I think it's mad e mainly of aluminum with a glass dome lens. I really don't know much about it. But it seems like it would be a good one to convert into a regular 110 table lamp, ceiling, or wall fixture. It's pictured sitting on a roll of tape. There's a little piece on the side at the bottom that sticks down just enough to be in the way. It has 2 rivets that could be drilled out if you want to remove it. Not including that piece it measures about 12 1/2" tall. About 4 1/2" across at the bottom and nearly 9" across at it's widest point. It has scuffs. Scraches, use-wear, and some speckles of spray paint on and around the red tag. I have another one. If this one does well I may offer it to the highest bidder at the same price(high bid each) if that buyer wants a pair. It weighs around 10 lbs. unpacked. This looks to be from the 30s- 40s, but I am unsure of it's exact age. I purchased this from a barn sale in Montana. It is ALL ORIGINAL, with the green shade, glass globe and bullet style housing in excellent, near mint condition. No chips or cracks to the shade or globe. A few light scratches, that's about it for damage. It is 18 1/4" across(shade) and approx. 17" tall from globe bottom to top of bullet. The green i.d. plate reads'Appleton Electric Co. 6 Vintage Appleton Green barn lights industrial porcelain shades rewired USED
This is for 6 vintage Appleton green barn or industrial lights. They were rewired with heavy duty 13 amp appliance cords with molded plugs. You can either plug them in and hang or wire direct. These were taken out of an old brick building in Orlando before it was torn down. This was in a space used long ago as an automotive repair shop. These were SO dirty when we got them down. All we did was clean them and rewire them. We have not tried to touch them up and some have some minor chips and a little rust. I like these better that way. At least they show wear. Some had the original labels on them but when we washed them down, they came off with only residue still on the shades. They could still use a little cleaning and waxing. The fixtures still have the original porcelain sockets mounted to a round pancake box as shown. You will get all 6 ... morerewired fixtures as shown. They are available for pick up in the Clermont/Orlando area. Buyer to pay shipping based on location and they will be packed well. War of 1812 Brigadier General James Appleton Handwritten Letter w/ Sign! WOW!!
This is a handwritten letter signed by 19th century military leader and prohibition leader James Appleton. Appleton(1785-1862) served as Brigadier General during the War of 1812. Appleton was born in Ipswich. Massachusetts and worked as a silversmith and jeweler in Mablehead, Massachusetts. From 1830 until 1850 he worked as a jeweler in Portland, Maine. Appleton served in the state legislature in Massachusetts and Maine. He became known as the Father of Prohibition(with Neal Dow) and was a vocal anti-slavery advocate. The letter is written on a sheet of light blue paper 8x10 with a pen and comes with his signature on the bottom of the document. It is dated'Portland 14 Jan 1847' The letter is in regard to some papers from John Appleton regarding the Pratt papers. The writing is clear. This pamphlet has a 1924 copyright date and 31 pages of recipes featuring Dromedary food products. It measures about 7x5inches. Two pages were folded at the corners and missed the trim. Otherwise there are no folds. Tears, or stains on any of the pages. The booklet is bound with center staples; it has the smell of age. But is not offensive. It is stamped on the cover“Compliments of M J Gehin” Which was a grocery store in Appleton, Wisconsin in the 1920s. This cookbook was found in the back of a cupboard at my mother’s house– a fun and interesting find for the collector of history. This vintage collectible is packed carefully for safe shipping. This is 12 magazines called Western Whey put out by the Appleton Company called Western Condensing Company that was located at John St. in Appleton. Each mag is about 8 pages long. The magazines are bound in a hard cover, covering the years 1953 to 1955. They also had branches in Adel, Mishicot, Keil, Marshfield and others. D. D. Peebles is the president. This is an early vintage rare gum/peanut machine from the 1920s or so. Do not know the brand. No markings on it. Has shiny chrome and there is rusting, around the rim by the globe as shown in pictures and the inside are frozen not working. The middle rod does not go all the way to attach the orignal chrome top that it has no round ring on top which these may have had, do not know. Is this wonderful Two Gallon Stoneware Crock made in the Appleton Valley of Wisconsin. The Wisconsin potter who made this pottery with this design has not yet been identified. Dating around 1880. This beauty features a Strong"Lobster Claw" Tulip Decoration on the Front. Measures 9 1/2" tall and 9 1/4" wide across the top. Excellent Condition. A few minor 1/8" nibbles inside the rim. A small 1/4" flake at the base, and some small, light spots of staining from use. A small stone ping above the decoration in the making. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, stains, or repairs.
