Offered for sale is a beautiful SHAWNEE bulbous vase. Made in U.S.A. It has a bright metallic spatter finish over a white background and a tight spiral texture on the outside. And a glossy white glaze within. The vase stands appx. 5 3/4 inches(14.6cm) tall. A U.S. quarter is shown in the first two pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. There are no chips. Cracks, or scratches anywhere that I could find. There is some discoloration on the inside of the vase, near the bottom. It's rust-colored, and probably results from rusty water left to stand inside the vase. The stains do not show on the outside. Overall, the vase is in great condition. VINTAGE CZECHOSLOVAKIAN PURPLE METALLIC GLAZE VASE
The elderly woman I bought this from used to own an antique shop so I acquired some nice things but what really caught my eye was the glaze on this vase. The design is impressed into the clay and a metallic purple glaze with almost a copper feel to it finishes it. Very cool glaze. She told me it was from Czechoslovakia but I cant say for sure as I cant read the marks on the bottom and its not a mark I am familiar with. The vase is in good shape with no chips. Cracks or damage. It has some what is either wear or it was just finished that way as the area is smooth, on the top edge that you can see in the photos. The vase stands 8.5 inches tall and is about 3.5 inches wide. Antique German Muff Girl Figurine Match Holder & Striker Metallic Coat
Offered is an antique German match holder and striker with a figurine of a girl in a silver metallic coat holding a muff. It is 4 1/2" high and 2 1/4" by 1 1/2" wide. This handpainted match holder features a figure of a little girl with a muff. She wears a shiny silver coat and shoes and a white cap. The figure has beautiful detail. Sculptured hair and lovely face paint. She is covered with small projecting dots that provide a rough surface for striking the matches. I originally thought these were beads of paint but I now think they are porcelain. Very clever. There is a shadow of a maker's mark. Very faint, and cannot be read. Excellent antique condition. The design is a classic chintz style in a corset shape with a clear sage green base almost covered with metallic gold flower groups. Estimate of manufacture is 1920s through 1940s. The cup stands 3 1/8 inches high with a top-rim diameter of 3 3/8 inches. The base diameter measures 1 7/8 inches. The saucer stands 15/16 inch high with a diameter of 5 3/4 inches. This vase is a rare find! It is a very cool iridescent blue. Pink, and purple color, it depends on the lighting. It is called blue in color, but to me it shows off more as a pinkish, lavender color.
