Vintage Strat locknut RARE Vintage Fender fine-tuning locking nut Originally produced for 1983/ 1984 Fender Stratocaster Up for sale is this exceeding rare vintage Fender part. This part is so rare and obscure that I've found it hard to get ANY reliable info on it online. It appears that the Fender fine-tuning locking nut was an option for a short time on the 1983& 1984 Stratocaster and Elite models. And very few were sold. Technically speaking it isn't a nut at all, as it doesn't replace the guitar's nut, but is a locking fine-tuner system that works very well. Presumably, potential Fender locking nut customers(80's Floyd Rose players) mostly stuck with the Floyd Rose system- even if installing it ruined their guitars' long-term value(ah, those crazy Eighties! ... moreUnlike the Floyd, this locking nut requires no major modifications to the guitar. Only three tiny holes in the headstock for the screws. After the Fender Fullerton factory closed in 1984 the Fender locking nuts were never made again. Now. Nearly 30 years later, this part is far rarer than the guitars they were built for, and due to that rarity they will be much more valuable to collectors in the future. Condition: This Fender USA part is in like-new shape. In fact. It doesn't appear to have ever been installed or used at all. All screws turn normally. The complete part itself with it's fine-tuning screws and original mounting screws are included. Big 80's hair and spandex pants are not included. Or desirable. You will have to search the web or call Fender Support for installation details. But it's not rocket science- any luthier can handle it. Sold as-is. R2 Floyd Rose Lock nut. This is a mid 80's black chrome[not powder coated] with small"Made in Germany" script on the bottom. This is NOT a top mount nut. It is through the neck only, the way Floyd intended them to be mounted. The nut does have some scuffing on the high E string side, but is full usable. A plastic shim is included. The OTC 7269 Hub Locknut Socket is pre-owned. 1/2" drive. The socket is scuffed from normal use. No breaks. Cracks, no repairs. The prongs are all in good condition. Some residue that I couldn't get off, no chips on the ring inside. Ratchet end has slight scuffs but no breaks or gouges. A mechanic friend told me it was for 1980 and up Automatic Hub. All parts included* Neck width is 53mm(2.25" at the body end) 25.1" 648 mm) Scale Length* Original HM Strat deluxe neck plate included Condition: Near-mint. This is a thin neck. With a wide feel. I do not know the neck's profile. There is no significant wear on the rosewood fretboard. Its Gotoh tuners work like new, as does the Kahler locking nut. The jumbo frets have almost no wear at all. In fact the only divot I can see is a single point of wear on the G string at fret 2. The only dings on the neck are at the very top of the headstock, where there are small, shallow ... morenicks. There are no other dings, dents, scratches or lacquer wear. I think the back of the neck has been very lightly sanded- it feels incredibly smooth. Despite what the neck plate implies, this neck was Made in Japan, and is of the highest quality. You are unlikely to ever find a better example of a used HM Strat neck. Installation: An easy fit into an HM Strat body. This neck will also fit any standard Fender Stratocaster body with a 4-screw neck mount. But be aware that the scale length is slightly different on a standard Strat- Do your homework before bidding if you are not mounting this to an HM Strat body. Your bid includes: The Fender HM Strat neck as shown. With its original Kahler locking nut and all its pieces. The Gotoh tuners. And the original neck plate with all 4 screws. If you are familiar with my listings. You may have noticed that I usually list necks with all their parts at a fair Buy It Now price. If the neck goes unsold.
