It’s a device for focusing a Speed or Crown Graphic press camera in dim light(or even darkness) This is a rare example of a functional synch cord for an early model Graflex“Star Wars”type flash unit. Which had round connectors rather than household-type outlets for synch and solenoid cords. These cords are typically around 70 years old. And it’s rare to find one like this, with the insulation intact and reasonably flexible(usually the insulation is brittle and cracks into fragments at the slightest touch) I say reasonably flexible. It is a bit stiff and it does tend to fall back into the curved form in which it was stored. But you can pull it out almost straight. If you’re gentle. Mic is in good condition and was working properly when packed away several years ago but I have no way to test now and it is sold as is. Chrome finish is in good condition with only lite signs of age and use. No corrosion, dents, abuse. A lite surface scratch on the one side. It has not been polished and retains its original pattina.
