The Cavalier Furniture company started out as the Tennessee Furniture company. And became the Cavalier Furniture Company in 1938. We are unsure of the age of this desk but looking at the construction we would estimate it was most likely made in the 1940s. The styling is American Revival. This desk carries the makers plaque mounted on the inside of the bottom left drawer. The desk measures 46 inches wide. By 18 1/4 inches deep, and 29 3/4 tall. Condition- The overall condition of this desk is good. The joinery on the drawers is tight, and the drawers pull smoothly. The top of the desk looks to have been stripped, and there are a ... morefew groove depressions(not scratches) in the top. The grain could be raised to eliminate these grooves. The finish is a bit uneven, but I like the character it adds to the piece. I suppose the desk could be refinished if need be. This is a well made little desk. With some classic styling. ORG CLARK'S SPOOL THREAD CABINET DESK-LIFT LID-6 DRAWER
SPOOL/THREAD CABINET This is a late 1800's or early 1900's wood spool/thread cabinet. Made for a counter top display and can be used as a desk. The cabinet retains the original painted letters on the drawer fronts and emblem on the back. The piece has six(6) drawers all with original knobs/pulls. It measures at the base 32 1/2" wide x 23 1/2" deep. The lid is angled for a writing/working surface. The piece measures 13 3/4" tall in the front and 14 1/2" tall in the back. The lift lid is 17 1/2" deep and supported by a wood piece to hold in place while working within. The leather top to the lift lid has been replaced and there are three or four wrinkles. The knobs appear to be brass and so do the collars around the knobs. Some of the knobs have dings/slightly bent and need polishing/refinishing. The top drawer ... moreon the right front use to read"White" but the letters are worn from use. The piece no longer has the wood dividers in the drawers for the rows of thread. A previous owner used this piece in his store and inserted hand made tin dividers in two of the drawers for bills/receipts. These could easily be removed if you so desire. The top right drawer was used as a money drawer and the previous owner has made a place for coins within(see photos) The drawers are not perfectly clean and show ink spills/spots/stains/dirt and could be refinished. They are now natural wood. The back decal has been scratched and part of the original paint is missing(see photo) There is a small gap in the bottom trim around the base located at the front left bottom corner. I believe the wood to be oak or ash(not sure) but it is a heavy piece and in nice condition for the age and use. This would be great in a vintage sewing room or with a group of period advertising. Golden Oak Antique C-Roll-top Desk with One 4-Drawer Bank and FREE Desk Chair
This is a good looking golden oak desk with one four drawer bank of drawers on the right. It measures 36" wide. 43" high, and 28" from front to back. It is mostly solid oak accept the upper sides are veneered. In the picture the rich golden oak stain and grain is evident. There are three slits on the side-left where the veneer has buckled, and a mark on the intact upper right side of the desk that has a slight black discoloration. There are a few chips on the inside right of the roll-top side that has occurred, otherwise the desk is clean and rich in style. There are two interior 9.5" drawers at the upper desk with numerous open compartments. The four larger drawers measure 10" wide by 20" deep. There is a pull-out side table on each side above each top drawer. There is a single lock on the center drawer that locks all the drawers. Up for auction is this lovely vintage desk. It is made of solid silky oak and would date back to the 1930's or so. It has 2 drawers and measures 106cm wide. 59cm deep and stands 77cm high. The slant or drop front opens to reveal many compartments and cubbyholes. The two-shelf gallery is totally intact. Antique Weis 6 Drawer Wooden Flat File Cabinet Desk Counter Top Document
Circa 1910 Weis document file cabinet for a desk or countertop. Has it's original mahogany finish(though I think the wood is actually birch) By this time in our country's manufacturing age cabinet woods were starting to get pricey. Furniture manufacturers were starting to use veneers and stains to simulate more expensive solid wood. The start of the Industrial Age to 1910 saw the diminishment of our great forrest stands of timber. This cabinet boasts it's original label on the top as well as original file drawer pulls. The drawers fronts have light finish loss. Please use the magnify feature to see this. Luckily none of the previous owners used any type of permanent paper in the file slots inside the drawer pulls. The inside bottom of all of the drawers have a hole so that legal documents could be stored that took up all of the ... moredrawers interior volume. You would pull the drawer open and insert your finger underneath and up through the hole to lift the pile of documents so that you just slide off the amount that you needed without wrinkling the documents. This cabinet measures 10 1/2" tall. 9 13/16" wide and 15 7/8" deep including the drawer pulls. The drawers measure 1" deep, 8 5/8" wide and 14 1/4" deep. The drawer measurements are the usable interior dimensions. The drawers are for the most part are very clean with just one of them having a small amount of dry residue. The drawers do not have any odor. The exterior of the cabinet is of fingerjoint construction with the inerior drawers being nailed. The exterior joints are very solid. The cabinet has various light scratches and some pinpoint paint drips. The top has a very small area of finish loss. The sides near the front of the cabinet have some slight finish loss as well. Facing the cabinet, it's right side has some finish loss along the bottom edge. This same side has a tight crack about 1 1/2" long coming up from the bottom. it is not very noticeable. Antique vintage library desk file 7 drawer cabinet industrial apothecary
Up for auction to U.S. customers only is a very nice old 7 drawer oak cabinet. It measures 13 inches tall x 11-1/2 inches wide and 9 inches deep. I believe this was originally part of a desk. Probably a rolltop, and fitted into a corner of the desk surface; all but two sides were oak, one side is pine and a second side, also probably unfinished pine, has had oak plywood added. There are some scratches and, as the pictures show, one of the drawer pulls is unlike the others, created using a brass card holder and knob(works fine, but replacement pulls can be purchased on ebay) What's interesting about the cabinet is that it can be turned upside down and the drawers will still fit and work fine- just depends on whether you want the largest drawers on top or on the bottom(see pictures) The large drawers are 1-1/2 inches high; the small drawers ... more4 inches wide and 3 inches high(note they are fashioned like scoops) and the openings that hold envelopes are 1 inch wide by 6 inches tall. There are also a few scratches but overall the finish is in really nice condition. A really nice, practical and handy storage file for all that loose stuff around the house. Used Steelcase six-drawer steel industrial tanker style office desk
You are bidding on a used Steelcase six-drawer steel industrial tanker style office desk. The desk is 29 inches tall. 60 inches long, and 30 1/4 inches deep(there is a yellow yard stick on top the desk in one of the pictures for scale) It has three drawers on the left side, two drawers on the right, and a single drawer in the center. There is a pull-out side table on each side above each top drawer. There is a single lock on the center drawer that locks all the drawers. The desk comes with at least one working key, maybe two if I can find the second. I do not know how old it is. The desk was originally painted black. But was repainted tan before I bought it. The top is in good condition. It has dents, dings, and chipped paint in several locations, but it still does its job. The history of the desk: This desk came from the aircraft maintenance ... moreoffices of Delta Air Lines in Atlanta Georgia. It was the desk I used when I worked there in the late 1990s and early 2000s. My office was being remodeled. All the hand-me-down office equipment we had scrounged from other offices to furnish ours was being donated to the Delta Heritage Museum to be sold to fund the museum operations. The project manager in charge of the remodel wanted to get rid of as much furniture as possible rather than move it across the airport to the museum. In exchange for a donation to the museum. English Chippendale George III Mahogany Writing Table One Drawer Desk c. 1760-80
English Chippendale Mahogany One Drawer Writing Desk England. C. 1760-80 Item# 100004RUP24 Circa the last quarter of the 18th century. Probably 1760-80, this is a fine and simple one drawer English Chippendale writing desk. It is crafted of mahogany primary woods over golden oak secondary woods, with a single solid golden mahogany plank making up the top– carefully affixed with a combination of screws set in wells and a single remaining glue block, the top has survived in outstanding condition with no cracking from shrinkage and expansion over the years. It is surrounded by quarter molding and projects over a single drawer with two bail style pulls, both pulls being period and probably original to the piece, though the pins are replaced(see more below in the condition statement) The drawer is framed with a scratched bead. Simulating cockbead ... moremolding, with hand dovetailing of the front and backs fo the drawer. The frame terminates on four chamfered legs. The frame is dovetail construction over tenon mortise joinery, locking the entire structure with perfection. The interior of the frame has areas of nearly black oxidization, with unfinished hand cuts and carvings throughout the underside, a testament of the tools used by the craftsman. Hand craftsmanship is written all over this piece. With original hand made screws still holding the top to the frame– three of the seven screws are entirely hand made. Rosehead nails are visible underneath on the rear leg blocking. This is an outstanding piece for any collector of the Chippendale Period. Particularly Georgian collections, but also is a wonderful strike point for any fine home. It’s subdued size allows it to comfortably function in a variety of spaces, bringing a strong sense of refined beauty balanced with simple austerity. Measurements: 38” wide by 21” deep by 28 ½” high Condition Report: Refinished. Sunbleached with some color variation between the top and frame. As well as between the sides, front and back. Top with minor dings, scratches and a burn scar.

All the drawers and top are joined. With dovetails at the corners. All the drawer bottoms have chamfered. Ends that fit into a tight track in the drawer. Sides. I'm guessing that drawer facewood. Is cherry(mahogany? and hinder parts of drawers made from boxwood. All the drawers fit precisely. The large drawers have grooves worn in them. From riding over guidance rails in the front of. The desk can be raised also to different heights with a metal bar underneath that has two positions. The bar on the back of the chair also can be raised and lowered for proper back support. The writing desk portion also slides back and forth to get closer or farther from the child sitting in the chair. There is a nice drawer under the chair. This is an amazing piece of work- very mechanical and advanced for its time.
