Beautiful Antique Golden Oak Desk with Carvings & One Center Drawer
This is a very versatile piece of furniture that is a desk but may have many other uses. The carvings(feet and sides at corners photo#4) appear hand carved and the piece could very well be prior to 1900. But I listed it 1900+ to be sure. It is a solid wood throughout and in fairly good condition-VG. It measures on top at 45.5" W and 28"D. It can add a classic look to any room with its' great style and golden oak grained color. The desk top is 29" above the floor and comfortable to sit at. The center drawer is 22"W. The"paws" are all similar and are 3"X 3.5" see photo#3) There is a small dark blemish on the wood top on the left(see photo#2) that I began to remove but it is incomplete. The bottom shelf is of a nice sweeping shape and adds to the versatility. The center drawer appears to be a replacement( ... moredrawer. It needs gluing in the front where there is a few inch separation. But it is not a difficult clamping job at all. There is a light small separation on top of the front lid that could use a little gluing to make this lovely piece in VG+++ condition. Vintage drawer pull hardware lot of 9, with original screws from desk
Offering a set of 9 old drawer pulls from a desk. I have no idea of their age or manufactor. The desk was beyond recovery but the hardware was in good shape. They are 3 in wide and 2-3/8 in high. the screws are at 2-1/2 in at center. They look like original color was black painted. There is some surface rust. But only on surface. The bails are all there and swing freely. I left one on the drawer for picture, all the rest have been hand removed and the original screws are attached, none are stripped. If you want the drawer front to use for pilot hole drilling, please ask for invoice before paying, there will be an increase in shipping charges, I did not include the weight for postage. This antique oak cabinet was stored in a barn for years so it has an old musty smell. It was used for holding small parts and tools so it's dirty inside and out plus the original finish has alligatored on the back and side panels. There are small nail holes around the top edge with traces of old gray paint. It has the original brass hardware and the two bottom ones are pulled away from the drawer a little.
