Old Smithy or i was told it also called Midas Mill Drill and Lathe combo machine. Model should be AT-300. Same as 1220 Midas. Dont hold me to it, i just did my homework- do yours. It works. Although it is missing a switch knob, i used pliers just fine to turn it on. Here's the story i had it for a few years thinking i will learn how to use it. Never did. recently it was rebuild. Gaskets changes, oiled up. Again i thought I'd use it but failed to think of reason why? So it is for sale. It cost me quite a lot when i got it, and it is a quality machine, but i have no use for it. Comes with all you see. It needs the pulley put back on the motor(5 min job, it was removed so that the cover can be removed and cleaned) It probably needs the adjustments, whatever they might be, as to me- it spins, i have no clue what else to check, if you ... moreask i will. It has extra chuck teeth. Kind of reversed from what is installed, i have a bunch of blades that cut metal, but they have surface rust. Excuse the lingo, dont know what they called. Even though you can take the top off, it doesn't make it easier. i wont be able to carry it out. I have the vise. But they are cheap and rusty too, so if you'd want them- free with the machine. Vertical drill - mill head from old Cincinnati horizontal milling machine
This head came on my old Cincinnati#2 horizontal miller when I got it some 20 years ago. The auction is for the head as shown in the first picture. The last two photos show how it was installed. The milling machine has been scrapped, it is not included here. Not much info on the head, two brass plates, on stamped A101, the other"Timken bearing equipped" The end of the spindle has a#3 morse taper, the drawbar hold this chuck in tight. The chuck has a 3/4" straight bore. Both drawbar& chuck are included. The large collar is 4 1/4" bore, it fir on the horizontal arm of the miller as shown. There are degree markings all around the collar. The motor is 3 phase, 1/2 hp, 230/460 volt. It is 1140 rpm. This unit always worked fine for me, I used it mostly as a drill press, I did a little light milling, but the table on the ... moremiller was so shot it was hard to get accuracy. As this sits, it's about 100 pounds. I will separate the motor from it and send it ups ground in two boxes. If you don't want the 3 phase motor, let me know after the auction ends, the shipping will go down some for sure. If you have any questions, please ask, I will do my best for answers. I bought this because I thought it would be cool to have such a small machine but I have too many bigger lathes already that can do what this can do as well so it ends up just taking up vital desk space. You can see my shop is packed. The screws are in good condition everything turns smooth and straight. In particular the headstock is extremely accurate on this I measure well under.001" runout on my dial indicator. In fact the DTI barely moved at all. This machine has all the accessories you need. The shaft mount part is 3/4" round with a lock key hole. Measures 9" long approx. 2. ball knob top is rubber. Rest is metal, handle is straight but appears to be adjustable to the angle of mount. Round hole mount is approx. 1" its 10" long 3. Post mounted with unthreaded type slip on top. Straight 5" handle with ball top. Shaft part is approx. 5" 4. 7" handles slight curves to it. Oblong top, square mount at 5/8" marked with a#8 5. Also 7" long. Lot of machine handles mill lathe drill press cabinet Bridgeport Hardinge style
Up for sale is a group of used machine handles. The longest one with the ribbed knob may be a Bridgeport style quill handle. It has a 1" hole in a 1.75" OD ring with a 3/16" drive pin in the one face. We no longer have a Bridgeport here to check it on so I leave the determination up to the buyer on this one. Also included is a straight handle about 6" long on a 3/8" shaft. Threaded on the exposed end with a 1 3/8" ball on the other end. Not sure what it was off of, perhaps an old Clausing or Powermatic drill press? Last item looks like a cabinet lock handle. It has a 5/16" square opening in the end that secures with a setscrew.
