These coils are not like most other replacement inductors for Pultec EQs. Most other manufacturers use either cheap ferrite pot cores or shell cores to make their inductors. Like all Vintage Windings toroid coils these were wound using the same techniques pioneered by Western Electric for winding toroids. Western Electric was responsible for the design of the EQP filter section as it was licensed by Pultec for use in the EQP-1A. Vintage Windings toroid inductors are all vacuum baked and potted. Then shielded. Note: This auction is for a set of three(3) MEQ-5 toroid inductor coils only. The make a clone more parts will be necessary. The Pultec MEQ-5 can be built in a solid state version exactly like the EQP-1A simply by replacing the EQP filter section with the MEQ-5 filter section. Up for Buy-it-Now here is a Brand New Vintage Windings PULTEC Style EQP-1A Toroidal Audio Filter Inductor Coil Matched Stereo Pair Up for Buy it Now here is a new product from my company Vintage Windings. These are not like most other replacement inductors for Pultec EQs. Most others are either cheap ferrite pot core or shell core inductors. The first original Pultecs used two toroidal coils that were switched in combination to make the necessary values. The later EQP-1A's used one tapped toroid. This toroid is like the later style. It is a slightly larger than original. This coil has a MPP Core(Molybdenum Permalloy Powder Core) that was specifically chosen for this application. It was wound using the same techniques used by Western Electric for winding toroids. Altran Toroid Transformer 12 volts 25 amps 300 VA
You are bidding on an Altran C-3096-5 P/N SO424-00 12 volts 300 VA(25 amps) toroid transformer in good working condition. There is one spot of slight damage to the insulating wrap which I tried to show in the pictures. The copper winding beneath is not damaged. The transformer was bought surplus. And used briefly. The wires originally had push lugs on them and were rather short. The black and white wires are 115 volt 60 Hz and 6 inches, the red 12 volt 25 amp are 4 inches. The outer diameter is 5.75 inches, the inner diameter is 2.25 inches, the height is 1.75 inches. It is heavy and weighs about 10 pounds. No mounting hardware is included.
