For sale are several vintage Mallory 2.000 MFD@ 350vdc capacitors. They are part of the radio electronics inventory left behind by my late father. He was a radio, then later television, repairman for much of his life, and these are components that he had and never used. They were packed together, and they appear to be new old stock, but since they are out of their original packaging, I cannot sell them as brand new. 6 of them appear to be in shiny, perfect condition. 4 of them have creases or tiny"dings" in them, the worst of which are in photos 5 and 6. The one in photo 7, that tiny"ding" is the only mark on it. But, I do need to be clear on the exact condition. Please let me know if you can tell me if the marks might affect their performance. VINTAGE SPRAGUE ATOM DUAL CAPACITOR. 40 uF& 40 uF, 450 VDC, TVA-2740, USED. I found this an American-made dual capacitor about 30 years ago when I was cleaning out a scientific laboratory. It was in the stock supply bin but apparently had been used since one lead was clipped shorter. I kept it thinking I might have some eventual use for it. But have decided that it is now surplus to my needs. It is in a sealed paper can with three axial leads(two 7" and one 3" and has an attached metal clamp for mounting. The two red leads are for the two 40 uF segments and the black lead is for the common negative. It is 4" long by 1" in diameter. I have tested it for open and short conditions and it passed the tests. Package weighs ~4 oz. Up for auction. Because someone asked, are what I have on hand of vintage small value(less than 1uf) capacitors that are not electrolytic(as far as I can tell) Before you read further. THIS AUCTION IS FOR UNTESTED VINTAGE CAPACITORS OF UNKNOWN CONDITION(caps really dressed that up! Some look NOS. Some have been used. Working voltages are 200 vdc and up, majority are 400 and 600 vdc. Out of curiosity I actually tested each one, and sorted them into two groups. The first pic shows the entire lot, there is one left hand side jumbled grouping, and one right hand side grouping. The ones on the left were testing approx. +/ 25% and more of stated value(where I could read the value) and some of them were double or more! The ones on the right tested closer to stated values within stated tolerances, I'll generalize and say +/ 15 to 20% of stated ... morecapacitance. Didn't test any further. A note on the far right bumblebee ones, all four tested approx. 0.1uf, but since the color scheme on the smaller one is different than the other three, I assume either the large ones or the single small one is out of spec(I don't know the color stripe value, looks like resistor color coding, but I don't know if coding is the same) So whomever asked- this is what I have.
