Up for auction is a GREENLEE NO. 640 HEAVY DUTY POWER CABLE PULLER WIRE TUGGER- USED& WORKING! Included in the auction is the Greenlee No. 640 Tugger only. Exactly as shown in the photos provided. This unit is in good used condition, with average signs of cosmetic damage from previous usage(including original owner markings, dried grease, numerous scuffs/scratches, paint chips, etc) as to be expected when purchasing any used industrial equipment. Please see detailed photos provided for examples of the cosmetic damage, but note that these issues will in no way affect how well the tugger works. The prongs are also a little bent on the plug(though it still plugged in& connected fine) the cord has a couple of cracks in it(including one spot that has been repaired with electrical tape) though that in no way seems to affect how well the unit operates either. We do not have the capabilities to fully test out the tugger, though we did plug it in& turn the machine on. It rotated& seemed to work just as it should, though it did make a loud intermittent"clicking" noise(like a ratchet wrench) which I believe is what the machine is supposed to sound like, though I'm sure it needs to be greased up some more(since we have no idea the last time it was greased; we purchased the machine 2nd hand) If you have any questions at all regarding this tugger, please be sure to ask prior to purchasing! An informed buyer is a happy buyer! This Greenlee 640 Tugger usually sells for $1.000- $1,500 used(Greenlee no longer sells the machine new) but you can purchase ours now for a much, much more reasonable rate! Up for sale is a Greenlee#640 cable puller or tugger. It broke a chain many years ago and has been sitting in the tool room screaming for repair. I had others to use. If you are reading this. You already know the capabilities of this tool and how to use it. Well, I completely disassembled it and replaced everything. New grease, bearings, chains, drive sprockets, hardware, etc. Repainted, tested and ready for more years of use. I can tell you that if the chains are worn. It will fail. They get loose from usage and have to be kept up. If you are buying a used puller, make sure these are replaced. The cost on the chains alone is over $100.00 and that doesn't take into account any labor. Worn sprockets? A disaster and very expensive.
