This auction is for an extremely rare Crybaby from the sixties. If you collect vintage wahs then this is one for the collection. It has an usual board covered in an enclosure with some type of epoxy or sealant on it. Judging by the dimensions I'd guess it's a straight board. Usually only seen on models branded Vox. Of course they were made by the same company back then. It's also the same size as an uncovered Crybaby we have with a straight board. Anyway, it has an Icar pot that performs nicely with no scratchy noises. The feet are original but I don't know about the screws because they are phillips head and I've only seen flat head screws for this era. In any event I would say one screw is not because it is shiny, unlike the other three. This wah sounds the way most ways of that time do. With a nice vocal quack. There is a layered or dimensional effect. There is a metallic and flat orange. Gold(mostly flat) metallic green in the corners and bright black. There is a ~ a 1/4" edge that looks like it might be intentionally not as crisp, it kind of looks like there is air under the covering. The edges are not smooth, but bumpy like the brown textured plastic type material that forms the base. This has no manufacturing maker's marks on the base. Custom Made Glass/ Epoxy Composite Dive Float with inner tube. I designed and built this some years ago when I was doing a lot of diving. it's 18 inches in diameter. About 6 inches thick and about 28 inches with the tube installed. All up weight is about 10 lbs. It has a compartment on top for your gear. It's made of Epoxy Glass Composite and is extremely strong. I never painted this so you can see the glass weave through the resin. You could simply scuff the surface up a bit and apply a coat of paint if you were so inclined. The hinges are chrome plated marine brass and are showing a bit of corrosion but should clean up nicely. the rope ring on the bottom is also brass and is slightly corroded as well. It has PVC fittings on the top and inside for the flag shaft. The fittings are for a 5/ 8 inch staff but could be changed out easily. ... moreI always used a piece of PVC pipe as a flag staff, but there are certainly other options as well.
