The vintage stage light was manufactured in Chicago in the mid century- late 50's or early 60's. The design itself is even earlier. With definite Art Deco influence. It was originally a 1000 watt light with a fan built into the back of the housing. The fan has been removed and the original socket and wiring replaced with a modern Edison socket(accepts standard household light bulbs. The light retains a very high percentage of its original finish- very nearly all of it. The beam focuses smoothly from a spot to a flood via a Bakelite knob in back. The 4.5" fresnel lens is in perfect condition and makes for excellent accent lighting, or even ... moreroom lighting if deflected from a wall or ceiling. The light assembly measures 9.5" wide by 11.5" deep, and stand 12.5" high from the tripod head. The tripod is contemporary to the light. This is a very rare piece. Made in France. The mix of beautifully patinated cast and machined metal, chrome, brass, aluminum and wood is quite striking and perfectly complements the light. The whole assembly as pictured measures 65" tall. The plastic beehive shade is in excellent condition without any breaks in the plastic or discoloration.
