Every pipe we receive is disassembled. Cleaned and sanitized. We use no detergents. Chemical cleaners or petroleum products in the cleaning process. Cleaning and sanitization is accomplished by hand brushing and wiping with potable distilled spirits. After cleaning all components are exposed to natural and artificial ultraviolet light for several days. During the cleaning and sanitization process each pipe is thoroughly examined and graded to determine if it meets our standards. Most of the stains or finishes applied to the pipe are natural organic material such as pure organic pigments; natural oils derived from plants whose properties we deem to enhance both the appearance and aroma of the pipe.
