This antique paisley shawl has a black field with hand woven and hand embroidered paisley borders. One corner of the field has a signature embroidered in white. The borders reverse so that the shawl. When folded or flipped into a triangle, could be worn with both correct sides facing outward. This means that, when spread out, two side edges are always facing up and two face down. I buy vintage linens and other goodies at local estate auctions. And recently found some great items. This is a large vintage kitchen towel that dates from the 1950s. It is made of heavy cotton twill and measures 37 1/2" long by 15" wide. The background is white. Over which there is a great great print of apples, apple blossoms, and leaves. The same print is featured at each end of what is essentially a double towel; there is a large cluster of three red apples on a stem with apple leaves in the center of each end, surrounded by a border of smaller red apples along with apple blossoms and leaves and twigs. The apples are bright red and the leaves are a bit blue-green, with a little yellow added in places. The print is very vivid and technicolor! I have laundered and pressed this and found it to be in excellent condition. There are ... moreno holes or rips or tears or stains- it's really in good shape. It lends such a period look for your kitchen- or use it as a table runner. Since the print is continuous. I am storing this in my smoke-free home. I buy vintage linens at local estate auctions and recently found some great items. Including wonderful scarves. This is a vintage souvenir scarf commemorating the Incres Lines and the M/S Victoria. This establishes its date as from 1958-1975. The scarf is made of silk twill. Very smooth and glossy. It has rolled edges and measures 34" square. The scarf has a white center, with the Incres Line crest in the center in gold and black. Around the white center there is a perimeter of red, with the outer edge navy blue. In the center of each edge there is the crest for the Victoria, as shown in the last photo. Each of the four corners features a detailed drawing of the stern of an historic ship: Sovereign of the Sea, English man-of-war, 1637; Atlas de Colbert, French man-of-war, 1664-1669; Elephanten, Danish Royal frigate, 1687; and Amarant, ... moreSwedish man-of-war, 1653. The printing of these drawings is very detailed and very perfect. It's a stunning scarf. This is in excellent vintage condition: there's no evidence that it was ever used. Pre-WWII Gibson Lapsteel Case for the high-end EH series(The Lower end BR series didn't get the tweed/trill treatment) The case is in fair condition. With the edges around the majority of the case having the fabric worn away and frayed. It is contoured on the lid and the back has a really thick level of padding to it unlike most cases for either lapsteels or guitars that we've ever seen. All the original hinges and latches are in working order including the clasp beneath the handle. The leather handle itself is in decent shape with the expected amount of wear. There is one area on the top/headstock area of the outside where the wood looks to have been burned or something- pictured up close. The interior pocket has a little cardboard exposed but is still secure. O ffered here is a circa1915-1925 beautiful old Navaho weaving that measures 4 feet 10 inches long by 2 foot 6 inches wide or 58” x 30” and is in excellent condition. It was handwoven by an expert weaver on a primitive upright loom of all Native handshorn. Handcarded and beautifully handspun silky old long staple sheep wool, both weft& warp. A s they prized themselves as great horsemen. One of the most valued textiles to be woven by the southwestern American Indian was the saddle blanket woven to use on their horse. This is a dandy old diamond and herringbone twill weaving. The execution of weave is just superb in this antique double saddle. We feel twill weaving prices are still in the buyer’s market area for investment to just tuck back& appreciate over the years. So each purchase is for a length that measures 1 yard long by 20 inches wide( should you require longer lengths, simply change the quantity button above( eg: should you require a length that measures 3 yards by 20 inches wide, simply change the quantity button to 3 and you will receive one long continuous length) please email me for a combined shipping total if purchasing multiple lengths ~*~) One of the best of the best! ~*~ Wonderfully rare ~this wonderful textiles is a bolt of homespun hemp from Europe that dates from the 1800's. ~*~ This bolt is a very heavy weave. STUNNING golden brown stripes and the ground tone is a warm straw tone! ~ this fabric is very heavy weight, twill weave, pure hemp and would have been hand-woven for use as heavy ... moregrain sacking. This fabric has a pliable body, neither soft nor is it coarse, rather in between! I simply ADORE the stripe pattern on this beautiful bolt! ~*~ if using for upholstery, it has a slightly more stiff hand than most of my plain weave bolts, however it could be used by a skilled upholsterer. This bolt is one that I would actually recommend dry cleaning in order to keep the wonderful flatness of the weave. In small lengths, it could be water washed on cold and hung to dry, however for long lengths, best to just have dry cleaned ~*~ This fabric would make BEAUTIFUL table runners, ideal for upholstery, decorative pillows and many other beautiful creations. A rare and wonderful European textile treasure ~( bolt 16) CONDITION: This length is unwashed and unused! there is some light storage dust. And in a few places along this long length, there are very pale storage lines that run the width.
