Upper Shaft Has Good Splines and Ends. The Lower Shaft Came out as One Assembly. All of the Gears Have Good Teeth that are Not Broken or Missing. They show average wear on the corners of the teeth but nothing serious. The threads on the input shaft may need to be filed or rethreaded. Complete with Endcaps and All Fasteners. JOHN DEERE MID STYLED A 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION GEAR GEARS FORK FORKS SHAFT SHAFTS
John Deere Mid Styled A 6 Speed High/Low Range Transmission Assembly. Everything Shown Came out of the 1948 A Tractor Shown. All Gears. Forks, Shafts, Bearings, Clips, Fasteners Etc. All of the Shifting Forks are in Nice Shape, None are Broken or Welded. Nice Sliding Shafts. Upper and Lower Spined Shafts are Nice with Good Ends and Splines. Input Shaft Looks Good. Several of the gears that go on the top splined shaft are showing rust pitting and the pitting is deep enough on some areas that it probably wont clean up completely. The Gears on the Lower Shaft Look Good and were in oil. None of the gears have broken or missing gear teeth. I would personally replace the bearings since you have your tractor torn down this far anyway. Whatever is in the tractor is laid out here for 1 Winning Bid. John Deere 720 730 complete transmission --- shafts and gears
John Deere 720 730 complete transmission. This came out of a n early 720 gas that showed no wear. We did not know wh y it was parked until we too k the crank out and s aw it had spun a rod. E very part on this shows very very little wear. W hen we took the transmission apa rt. We decided that we would not p iece the transmission out. This transmission still had all of the shims in it and the n ut on the bottom shaft has never been taken off. Every bearing looks like new, some have a pit here or there but I would not change a single bearing. All of the in ternal gears(inside the transmission housing) did not have a single chip on any of the teeth. The ext er nal gears( F 2609R and upper shaft end gear) each have two small chips. There are some rust pits on the internal gears: F2611R has very little surface rust. 1/3 of F2619R has large pits, ... more1/3 of F2620R has large pits, 1/2 of F2621R has large pits, F2610R has very little surface rust, and F2613R has very little surface rust. I tried to show a picture of the pits in the last picture. I do not believe this transmission had ever been out of the tractor and the I believe the bearings are original. This is a true matched set. I would not replace any of the gears that have pits, I would use this as is. This would be fine for a restored tractor or one that works 12 hours a day. Very Very nice. I can send better pictures of the gears with pits if you would like. This will not last long as the next 720 730 we restore will get this transmission. Very Very little wear on the shafts. We are parting out several 60s. 620s, 630s, 70s, 720s, and 730s, and will be listing some parts off of them as time allows. We also have a few parts for A, B, D, G, H, 50, 520, 530, 80, 820, 830. John Deere Late Styled A(1950-52) Complete Transmission Assembly. Came out of the 1952 AR Tractor Shown. Everything that was in the tractor is laid out here. All Shafts. Forks, Gears, Bearings, Clips, Retainers, etc. All of the Sliding Shafts Look Good with Good Indents. None of the Shifting Forks are Broken or Welded. The Upper and Lower Splined Shafts have Good Splines with Good Ends. None of the Gears have Broken, Chipped or Missing Gear Teeth. They do show average wear on the corner ends of the teeth, some more than others, but still a good set. I would personally replace the bearings since you already have your tractor torn down this far its just good practice to do so. This transmission bottom counter shaft with gears was removed from a Farmall M. Will also fit MD, possibly others. The gears have 19, 23, 26, 29, and 54 teeth. The edge of the teeth are slightly rounded, other than that I don't see any chips, cracks or breaks. The sale is for one shaft, there are two available, one with a slot for pto and one with a spline for pto. There are six pics of each, let me know which one to ship.
