Old Bosch DU4IS Antique Tractor Magneto Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Oiler HOT!!
This is a pretty nice original and very hard to find Bosch DU4IS four cylinder magneto with an impulse starter on it. It was commonly used on some of the crossmotor Case tractors as well as many others. It is in great condition with the exception of the distributor cap with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kid. It is clockwise rotation and turns over very nicely with great magnetic pull. The impulse mechanism works as it should and there is very little wear in the bearings on that end unlike most of these magnetos that you run across. This magneto puts out a healthy blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up and adjusted properly. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and the threads in the mounting holes are in great shape. These magnetos are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and usually they ... morerequire several hundred dollars worth of repair work. Not this one. It will work the way it is or you can replace the cap and have a near perfect example. The pictures tell the story on it. You won't be disappointed in any way. Good Luck.

PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION This auction is for a good working Wico model XH2500 magneto. It has a NEW rotor and NEW cap gasket with a nice used cap. I can see the timming mark clearly through the small window( see photo)It fires very well. It turns clockwise. The impulse drive was adjustable BUT someone has welded it in position so it is nolonger adjustable. see photo) The lag angle stop is still adjustable. I put this magneto on my Case SC( TRACTOR IS RUNNING IN PHOTOS) it worked well. But the timming was slow. I had to turn the magneto as far as the slotted holes would allow to make it work. It was still a little slow. This issue can be corrected by changing the lag angle. If I was going to use the magneto on my Case or Farmall tractor. I would change the lag angle on the magneto from 25 degrees to 15 degrees. Changing the lag angle ... morewould advance the timing and should make the magneto sit centered in the slotted mounting holes. On an Allis Chalmers tractor with 30 degree lag angle I would reset the mag to 20 degrees. This should solve the slow timming issue of the welded adjustment on the impulse coupling. new couplings are avaliable at about $40.00. The buyer can get a new one if he wishes and replace it himself. I will not replace the coupling. Pay to have it replaced or take returns on this magneto. I think I have made it very clear about the timming issue. if you have any questions ASK before you bid. And please ask early so I have time to reply before auction ends. This listing is for a Fairbanks Morse magneto. it is VERY HOT. SHOTS FIRE LIKE CRAZY. It is 30 degrees and turns RH. it is a type J4B3 it will fit the Allis chalmers letter series tractors. B-WD. This magneto does have the hard to find kill switch on the backside. I believe these were used only on a few years on the model WC. it should work on other AC tractors. You may have to change the kill switch. I cleaned it removed the impulse and cleaned it as well. It has a newer style coil. The points look good. I replaced the inside distributor cap with a used cap. I do not see anything cracks in either cap. Anyone who has been around a Fairbanks magneto knows how easy it is to damage the inner cap. The gears look pretty good. They do show normal wear. Hot base mount edison splitdorf magneto for John Deere GP or W power unit
This is something a little different. I listed it as Edison Splitdorf to get more viewings but it actually is a little more rare magneto. It is a HOT Thomas Edison. I do not have the stencil but they had Edison written on the top of the magnet. You could stencil it yourself. It is used on the John Deere GP. GPWT, or W power unit. If you do not want to look for a expensive basemount 2 cylinder RV, this magneto is distinctive and a whole lot cheaper. For the same price as a basemount Wico, you can have a real pretty magneto that will get you a lot of questions It is ready for your tractor. If your tractor is not ready, you can check the magneto with a plug wire. You can buy one not sparking and not returnable but why not spend a little more and not take the chance. A lot of times you can buy one and another for parts and still not make a good ... moremagneto. I can also fix your magneto for a very modest fee. The mag is HOT and throws a nice HOT spark. The cap is crack free and in very nice condition. The flange mounting pattern is 4 1/4" on center. This is a good hot Edison Splitdorf basemount magneto John Deere. It is ready for your tractor. If your tractor is not ready. You can check the magneto with a plug wire. If you can not afford a Fairbanks RV2basemount put one of these distinctive magnetos instead of the common Wico C or X that you see on so many tractors and at the same price as a Wico. Hot John Deere Wico X Magneto for unstyled A's B's H's or G'short lug
I disassembled this magneto. Sandblasted the case, cleaned all the parts, and replaced any bad parts with good used parts This means you can get a tractor ready magneto at a very reasonable price. I have 100% satisfaction and have sold magneto's for years on Ebay. Return the magneto if you are not satisfied in 14 days. If your tractor is not ready you can test the magneto with a plug wire. Notice this is a short lug, make sure you need short. I fix magneto very reasonable using good used parts. Overseas shipping will be extra. The reserve is $110.

Here is a vintage Fairbanks Morse FMJ 4B3 magneto painted Allis Chalmers orange. I believe this fits a WC WD C or B four cylinder tractor and possibly others but I am no expert. Be sure to check for your own application. I was able to get a hot spark from this magneto and the physical appearance would suggest that it was an early take off. However. Because of the age this may need a tune up kit or other adjusting. I see no cracks or damage on the plastic cap or the metal body. The gear at the back seems to have good spring tension. Excellent shape internally, and no stripped mounting threads. The magneto throws a nice hot spark. The cap is in very good shape with no cracks. I call my magneto rebuilds"refurbished" magnetos. I check these magnetos over completely top to bottom. Everything comes out and everything goes back in only if it matches the specifications. As determined by my Graham Lee magneto tester! New parts are used inside as needed to provide years of service. This magneto is fully repaired, but I do not go through and replace every replaceable item.
