This governor was removed many years ago from an abandoned engine in the copper mining country in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. I have no other history. In generally good condition. It has not been cleaned or polished. By visual inspection it looks complete and shows no obvious cracked. Broken or repaired parts. Various mechanical parts including the triple ball head. Governor spring and shafts are free to rotate and move as expected. Collar under the ball head is marked REV 500. Pipe opening is ¾ inch pipe thread. Measures 17 inches tall and 10 inches wide at the widest to the drive pulley. I would estimate that with cleaning and restoration it could be returned to operating condition. Old TACO FORDSON Tractor Governor Farm Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Magneto Oiler
This is an old Taco governor for a Fordson tractor. It is in used condition. It has the original name tag on it and was made by the Tractor Appliance Company in New Holstein. Wisconsin. It stands about 16 inches tall. It moves as it should and has some mild wear in the bearings. It has the original drive gear on the end of the shaft and it is in great condition. The only real flaw that I've noted is that one of the mounting ears has been broken. I don't think this would be too tough of a repair and you should be back in business. These original Fordson governor attachments are not that easy to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on this one. They are real attention getters at the shows!
