Here is a nice looking Edison Splitdorf model RM magneto for a Kaiser Frazer tiller. Check your parts book to be sure. It has been completely disassembled. Bearings washed and repacked, new retrofitted condenser, magnets charged, impulse washed and relubed. Cover plate has been blasted and painted as well. Has new rewound coil, coil cover is in nice shape. It has been professionally bench tested and is good and hot as it should be. These can be hard to find in working order. Hot base mount edison splitdorf magneto for John Deere GP or W power unit
This is something a little different. I listed it as Edison Splitdorf to get more viewings but it actually is a little more rare magneto. It is a HOT Thomas Edison. I do not have the stencil but they had Edison written on the top of the magnet. You could stencil it yourself. It is used on the John Deere GP. GPWT, or W power unit. If you do not want to look for a expensive basemount 2 cylinder RV, this magneto is distinctive and a whole lot cheaper. For the same price as a basemount Wico, you can have a real pretty magneto that will get you a lot of questions It is ready for your tractor. If your tractor is not ready, you can check the magneto with a plug wire. You can buy one not sparking and not returnable but why not spend a little more and not take the chance. A lot of times you can buy one and another for parts and still not make a good ... moremagneto. I can also fix your magneto for a very modest fee. This is a good hot Edison Splitdorf basemount magneto John Deere. It is ready for your tractor. If your tractor is not ready. You can check the magneto with a plug wire. If you can not afford a Fairbanks RV2basemount put one of these distinctive magnetos instead of the common Wico C or X that you see on so many tractors and at the same price as a Wico. You can buy one not sparking and not returnable but why not spend a little more and not take the chance. A lot of times you can buy one and another for parts and still not make a good magneto. I can also fix your magneto for a very modest fee. I have for auction this gas tractor magneto. It is a Edison Splitdorf type CD serial number T35990. I think this was used on flange mount John Deere D tractors. It might work on other models of tractors that had flange mountings for the mag. It is very good condition and has been rebuilt by a very experienced repairman. Old Original Edison- Splitdorf Type C 6 Cylinder Magneto Tractor Motorcycle Hit& Miss Gas Engine. Magneto is not stuck and has a 2 5/8" diameter drive coupler. Looking at the drive end it is counter clockwise rotation. The end cap looks good. Base mounting holes are good. No cracks. Welds or repairs. See Photos!
