Under the hood on right side of late model, U series Caterpillar D2's(5U and 4U D2's from 1947 on with main engine air cleaner behind hood, in front of operator) May also fit D4 Cat's(which used the same pony motor) Oil bath air cleaner is clean inside. Cup is in good shape. The two bolts and wing nuts that hold cup in place are missing(common 1/4-20 by 3" long square head bolts and 1/4-20 wing nuts) Looks like one of the tapped mounting holes is stripped in intake tube. This one is in excellent shape, outside of some bends in the inlet pipe(which the stack will cover) Also note that the mounting bracket is integrated with this assembly. We ran the cup through the parts washer and it is also in excellent shape. Some people will try and ship these without emptying the cup and the buyer gets an oily mess.
