One of the best. Kaeser BS50 rotary screw air compressor. 40 HP. Air cooled cabinet enclosed. Rated for 195 cfm@ 110 psi. Straight 480 volt three phase, no 230 volt. 54 amps at 480 volt. This is a VERY nice compressor in VERY nice shape- I didn't clean it up at all. It came from a major manufacturing company and was one of four similiar units ran through a sequencer. The hour meter shows 12002 operating hours, however it was replaced at 40426 hours, which means it has about 52000 hours run time. The old meter is in the cabinet. It has 32178 load hours. This is noting, these are designed for 100000 hours before rebuild. The previous owners were serious about maintenance. This compressor has new heat exchangers. For sale is a 1987 Kaeser SM 11. The compressor isn't perfect cosmetically. But that is expected from an older unit. It runs well and produces 42 cfm at 110 psi. It only has 30050 hours so it still has plenty of life left in it. It is currently wired for 460V, but can easily be switched to 230V. I can switch the wiring for the buyer. The oil looks clean, but I'm not sure when it was changed last. I would recommend changing the oil and filters within the next 1000 operating hours or so. The compressor is missing the panel for the electrical connections. A cover could easily be made if the buyer desires. The green indicator light doesn't appear to work. This doesn't affect performance and I'm sure the light could be fixed/replaced inexpensively. Please see the pictures and video to determine the condition for yourself. 50HP Kaeser BS60 rotary screw air compressor - rare high pressure model!
This is a Kaeser model BS60 rotary screw air compressor. It is rated at 178 cfm. And set up as a high pressure unit- 190 psi! The pressure can be set down. It is currently set up for 230 volt 3 phase but can easily be changed to 480 volt by switching a few wires in the control cabinet. This compressor includes shutdown protection for high temp, low oil, motor overload and wrong rotation. New in 1997, it is showing only about 45000 hours run time, and only 23000 hours loaded- which is NOTHING, Kaeser designs their compressors for a minimum of 100000 hours before overhaul. We changed the oil and filters, good to go! The only issues I am aware of is the struts which hold open the top are a little wimpy and could be replaced, and there is a hole in one of the back panels where the previous owner had ducted the intake outside of his building. ... moreKaeser builds one of the best air compressors in the world, and this is a good example. For sale is a Kaeser ASD 40 S 40HP Direct Drive Rotary Screw Air Compressor. With Kaeser's one-to-one drive. The airend is directly connected to the motor via a maintenance-free coupling that eliminates transmission losses. Kaeser’s direct drive screw compressors deliver outstanding performance and increase energy savings. Kaeser uses oversized airends specifically selected to produce the required output in flow and pressure. Compared to compressors using small, high-speed, gear-driven airends, the one-to-one drive provides significant savings. This is a great machine that has been well-maintained since new. It is clean overall and it runs very cool. It is also very quiet. It should have many years of trouble-free life left in it! It had a new Sigma controller installed in January of 2012. The hours are currently showing 3073 run hours ... moreand 743 load hours. The compressor ran about 2000 hours a year. With about a quarter of those hours under load. So the hours on the compressor before the new Sigma display was installed were somewhere around 20,000 run hours and 5,000 load hours or so, next to nothing on a machine designed to go 100,000 hours before the airend bearings need to be serviced.
