I'm having a difficult time identifying this holder so I'll give you what I can. This is a 40FC-9BS. It's an adapter I think and it looks like a Jacobs internally but I don't have anything that big and can't reach to the bottom of the bore with my measuring tools. I do have a smaller JT and the slop feels right but the BS in the model number makes me wonder about Brown and Sharpe. Here's some basics on the tapers and if you need more email: The external taper is.981 at the top, 1.746 at the bottom and the length of that taper is about 2 3/4" There's a female thread for a drawbar, 520 across the top of the threads. Up for auction is a quick change chuck for lathe with 2 tool holders. This is a shop made chuck modeled similar to the Alonis quick change chuck. The chuck is used and has nicks and blemishes but is in perfect working order. This has been on an 8 ft. lathe for years and has always served us well.
