The Kodak color densitometer Model 1 was an easy way to use transmission densitometer for making density measurements on color and black-and-white negatives. Transparencies, and prints. Measurements could be taken on film measuring up to 8x10 in. The densitometer was used by printers, process engravers, and photofinishing plants. This Kodak densitometer comes with operating instructions for Model 1 and Model 1-230. And 2 handy information booklets. One of the booklets has a date stamped on the cover which is, NOV 26 1962. This densitometer is Model 1 and has a Bakelite housing which is cracked on the corner by the ON/OFF switch and along ... morethe top edge to the next corner. The light works, the yellow scale wheel moves smoothly to adjust intensity, the filter holder is intact and moves as it should and"click stops" at each aperture, the filter holder has the red, green, blue filters and the"open" aperture for reading normal densities in black-and-white work, and the Zeroing knob turns freely. The eyeshield is in very good condition, not dried up or cracked. The Operating Instructions have stain spots throughout the booklet and has 2 horizontal creases. The green colored 32-page booklet has tape along the left edge. Has some staining on the inside pages, and writing on some pages and on the back cover, the other booklet which has 24 pages and the NOV 26 1962 date stamped on the front cover has a water stain at the top of the booklet and runs throughout the booklet at that spot. It is giving an error on start up(see photo) that says ERROR#6-READLMP. I think that the read lamp is burned out. The instructions that are included are incomplete and quite old. But it looks like a part number is listed there for the lamp. You might be able to find a replacement lamp and make it work. There is no check plaque or calibration plaque included with the unit. But it has a power cord and communication cord to connect to a computer if you have the right kind of connector. This model has been discontinued, but you can still find some information on these on the web. You will probably have better luck searching for Xrite 811 than for Kodak Model 2.
