FINAL INSPECTION Purchased new in 2007 to use on a prototype project in an invention research and development facility. The riser/stand was designed and built to facilitate easier close dimension observations. Over the years it has seen use on possibly a half-dozen occasions. It is in perfect condition with no scratches. Holes, cracks, metal impregnation or other damages. It is graded for shop use, but in my experience with it I can find no deviation outside of a flatness of around 2 tenths. Therefore, it is suitable for inspection. The plate is about 3-1/2” thick and on the risers the surface is a foot above whatever workbench or support table you might place it ... moreon. Easier on the back that way. This is located in a steel building inside a storage facility in Orange. California and is not shippable. It will require 2 very strong men(weighs about the same as 4 of those big car batteries) to lift it off the stand, a heavy-duty hand-cart or dolly(to roll it 25 feet to your vehicle) and a pick-up truck or van to take it away in. This stone was stored in a shop that never had work large enough for it. It did have a wood cover. But we discarded it as it was in bad shape. The granite. However, looks excellent. The specs are written on the manufacturer plate in the photo. I have carefully felt over the entire top surface. There appears to me no pits, no cracks, no scratches or chips of any kind. The stand is very rusty. Either replace the stand, or have in restored. We also have 2 other smaller surface stones that I will be posting auctions for soon.
