Vintage Miltex 256 C Vibrations Neurological Testing Tuning Fork Medical
For auction is this authentic Miltex. Model 256 C. Vibrations neurological testing tuning fork. I acquired this instrument from an estate of an old doctor. I have no in depth knowledge about this particular medical instrument or its proper usage other than I always enjoyed playing with it. Regardless. I will do my best to describe the instrument the best I can. The tuning fork appears to be made out of aluminum and measures approximately 6.75" long and 1.50" wide at its widest point. The instruments surface is a little dirty and could use a cleaning and/or polishing since it has been stored away inside a box for at least the last decade. On one side of the instrument there is the name" MILTEX" stamped into the metal in cursive letters. On the other side is stamped with what I assume is the instrument's model number. ... moreThis information reads as follows" 256 C" The instrument still produces a humming vibration noise when the fork is struck against a hard object. This humming noise can be heard easier when the fork's base is placed against a flat hard surface. Overall. This is a nice looking authentic medical testing instrument that would complement any medical memorabilia collection or can still be utilized as designed if it was in the hands of a skilled or trained professional.
