The tag was painted over; however. I am quite sure it could be cleaned off. Looks like the inside was painted as well. There is rust on the bottom and there are some holes on the bottom. that could probably be fixed as well. The top left and right latches are missing the metal piece that goes around the top. The latch for the lock is extremely strong and does hold the lid shut. Condition: scrapes. Scratches and marks, and dents from use. Bottom has rust. Trays fold in and out fairly smoothly. Vanderman Tool Chest. It was manufactured by Vanderman Manufacturing Company in Williamantic. CT. The patent date is July 13, 1897. These chests were used to carry tools. This box turns a lot of heads. Unique. There are six forged handles that won't rise above level, said to be used to carry the trunk by several men and designed to not crush fingers when it was full. Very Rare Antique Burlwood Artisan's Tool Chest
Through research. We know that in the 1800's and early 1900's, most artisans made their own tool chests and often took great pride in showing their skills in the production of their tool chests. You will note that the lock is a two prone lock which we also believe means late 1800's or early 1900's. We believe that this is the case with this chest. When we found this chest, it had 3 coats of paint on it: Grey over white over orange. We chemically removed all of these layers of paint and did very little else beyond cleaning the wood and applying a topical soft wax. We did not want to substantially change the history told by the age of this chest. The wood itself is in remarkably good condition. Again, the pictures are a clear representation. This is the first time we have ever seen a burlwood chest of this type and we have restored ... moreand refinished many old pieces over the years. The inside of the chest was left untouched beyond cleaning. The trays and portions of the original frame are not burlwood wood. The bottom of the chest is made from pine as can be seen in the pictures and the trays are most likely white pine or poplar. The bottom has also been patched, but this looks to have been done a long time ago. All in all, this is a beautiful decorator piece.

Antique Wooden Machinist Tool Box, Chest, Pine? Brand Unknown 8 Drawers Very Old
Antique Wooden Machinist's Tool Chest in Great Condition I'm no expert on these chests. But this has to be very old. It had been leather covered when new, because I can see the evidence of the leather in several places. Picture#11 shows the leather still remaining at the top edge of the chest. The dimensions are: Length- 19" Height- 14" Depth- 9" This is the wood box dimension, without adding for the hardware. The lock and latches are Eagle Lock Co. Terryville,CT. There is no key. The handle has to be the original leather covered one and the leather is not in good shape, but it certainly fits with the age of the chest. All of the latches, hinges and lock are complete and work fine, except for the missing key. For those of you who know more about this. I'm sure you can identify the brand from the drawer knobs and ... morediamond shaped back plates on them. I'm sure it has been sanded and finished, probably at the time the leather was removed. Primitive Blue Green Painted Foot Locker Small Tool Chest Trunk 4H Lift Top Folk
Painted pine primitive six-panel trunk or foot locker. This piece has a layer of blue paint over green paint and has a 4-H logo stencilled on the lift top. Sturdy construction with dovetail corners and applied molding around the bottom and iron braces at the corners. Beautiful stamped metal handles have been attached to the side. Brass key surround at the front lock. Unsure of exact age- the trunk itself probably dates from the 1800's. But its most recent paint job has to have been after 1910, when the 4-H logo was created. It may have been built as a tool chest and then repurposed for tack. Overall. This piece is in very good condition, although there is significant wear to the paint and some wear and minor damage to the wood itself. Antique Primitive Pine Lift Top Trunk Painted Green Tool Chest Country Folk
Antique green lift top chest. Classic primitive or country style. It looks like it was made from pine and has a basic six-panel construction. The top is made from three framed boards with a raised piece on top. Iron side handles and a molded base. Paint looks original or at least very old. Interior has sections for holding things in the front and stepped sides to hold boxes up. There are also strips of gathered leather attached to the top that may have been for tools and a cut-out"L" shape that may have held a carpenter's square. So it seems likely that this trunk was probably a tool chest at some point. Trunk probably dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. Overall. This piece is in good condition, however there is obvious wear as you can see from the pictures. This old machinists or dental box was a recent estate purchase. It was found in central Illinois on a farm that was having a sale. I was told that it belonged to a cash register repair man.cool. I thought it was a medical case and hoped it was full when I picked it up.sadly I was told it only had springs and gears in it at one time. This item is 14" by 10" by 8" deep. It is leather wrapped with metal corner guards. The leather is nice with normal signs of use here and there.nothing major. The lock does not work and that area shows signs of being pried open. I do not see any cracks or hindering damage. There are 6 drawers with galvanized metal bottoms. Some still have felt. Each drawer is numbered. VERY OLD TYPE 042 RARE 11 DRAWER GERSTNER OAK TOOL CHEST
Harry Gerstner started his business using a $100 bonus he was paid for a four year apprentice. To this day. The Gerster Tool company is managed by descendants of Harry. Gerstner chests have always been made of wood, as they believe the wood absorbs moisture and protects the tools from rust. Hand tools are still used in the fitting of drawers and front lids. The final inspection and adjustment processes are all hand work, and Gerstner offers a reconditioning service to this day. This chest was a working chest. I have made no effort to clean it or pretty it up, as you can see by the dust in the photo. There is no water damage, and the eye the wood matches(the photographs are taken with a cheap camera, and I just can't make the wood look like it does to the eye) This chest is solid. All the drawers are tight, and all have the metal bottoms. ... moreThe hardware all matches and has little flecks in the finish. I do not have the key. The middle drawer perfectly fits the 1931 Machinists Handbook that was in it when I got it, but I do not hold this out as a 1931 checst(evidently Gerstner can tell you the year made if you care to know) The watchmakers bench it sits on or anything else seen in the photographs other than the chest and fittings does not come with the chest(hard to believe I'm compelled to put that in the ad, huh?Here is the fun part and a condition of sale: I have not looked behind the mirror. I've taken as many pictures as I possibly can to give an accurate description. The conditions are as follows: the mirror under the lid has a crack along the bottom the finish is worn on both sides. However there are no cracks anywhere in the wood I'm assuming that the"L" hooks along the upper inside of the lid were put there by the previous owner two of the latches(both the front right and the right side) are worn inside so that they don't snap shut the screw under the lock was obviously put there to make it easier to align the front cover(includes one brass key) the felt is naturally worn throughout. I used a rubber drawer liner(that ... moreI must say looks pretty good! the handle is worn(see photo) the original label is worn off of the drawer. One side has the brazed on threaded stud stripped so it doesn't hold the nut to keep it tight. This can easily be fixed by having a good threaded piece brazed on and it doesn't show on the outside or inside under the mirror. The front lid that holds the drawers in when closed up has the usual scuffs and wear& tear from sliding it in and out. This wooden carpenter's tool box was discovered at a small flea market in upper Bucks County Pennsylvania. Chock full of rusty-dirty charm. This box has outer strap hinges that were riveted on with brass. A set of strap hinges were added down the middle for added strength, these were fastened with antique wood screws. The bottom part of the padlock latch is attached to a modified strap hinge. The paint is chipped and chipping. There is an oil stain around the hinge of the padlock latch, someone penciled a circle on the lid*under* the handle- so the circle, apparently, is from before the handle was added.and that handle has been attached for a long time! Inside there is a tray with a hole cut out of it to accommodate some unknown tool of yester-year. The tray must have been made from an old crate as the word"GLASS" can still ... morebe seen stenciled on one board. On the outside. Below the lid, there is a thin notch, one can only wonder what function that notch was cut for. The often missing handles on the side are firmly attached with antique wood screws. Measures: 31. 15/16 inches wide- 9, 3/8 inches deep and 10, 1/2 inches tall. This box is sturdy with no loose screws. Inside the shelf is dirty, there are water stains on the bottom and inside. Constructed of solid oak and of good quality construction. Dovetail joined with metal fixings to the corners of the case. There are catches which are in full working order which hold the front leaf in place when closed. The front leaf removes to reveal five graduating drawers each with it's original bakerlite drawer knob. The drawers are with the original baize lining excluding the bottom drawer as has been phtotographed. Also the original baize is missing from the fall front leaf- it has been later replaced but could do with re-lining. There are holes to the top of the case indicating there would have previously been a handle. And lso the lock has been removed from the ... morefall front. Not sure how old this is or who made it. Obviously well used with some repairs. Has the chest brace for leverage. But has some sort of dual gear setup that I have never seen before. The chest measures 27" long by 16" wide by 6" tall- it does have a skeleton key that goes with it. As with all things this age the lock is finicky but it does work. It is solid wood and appears to be walnut. It features 2 drawers with glass advertising. The top drawer reads"Clark's O.N.T" The bottom drawer reads"Spool Cotton" Both glass areas feature a gold background with black lettering. The handles are also gold in color to match the background of the glass. This cabinet has been mounted to a very nice turned leg base that is made out of the same wood as the cabinet. You are bidding on a great old Black& Decker Oak wooden tool box chest with dove tailed sides and litho's front and on fold up front. It is 22" by 11" by 14" good shape needs new latches at bottom for front cover and a leather or some kind of a handle at top. Litho's are good with some age wear but over all a nice tool chest. ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE TOOL CHEST WATCHMAKER'S/ JEWELRY CABINET/ CUPBOARD ORIGINAL RED PAINT Up for sale is this nice watchmaker's cabinet with a flip top hinged lid. 3 drawers, porcelain knobs and original red paint. This very nice little cabinet. It measures 20" W x 12.5" D x 11" H and weighs 15 lbs. It has 3 drawers that measure 17" W x 9.5" D x 1.5" H each. The top space under the lid measures 18" W x 9.5" D x 3" H. The drawers are not dovetailed and the top drawer appears to have been filed down to allow it to slide better. You can see this in the 9th picture. It has a little lock but we don't have the key. On the drawers. The knobs have long screws that stick into the inside of the drawers. You can see this in picture# 9 also. There are two little handles on the side that you can pick ... moreit up by. The bottom drawer has a couple of holes in the middle of it from a previous location of a handle. It's a nice red color and it's hard to take a good picture of it. As you'd expect. There are other scratches, nicks, and slight discolorations as you can see in the pictures. It's a very nice cabinet and would make a nice addition to your collection. Hi this item is located in Rochester Michigan 48307. I am 20 minutes NW of Detroit and 1 1/2 hours from Toledo. I shipping is needed. I can ship Greyhound Bus. You would have to go to your local Bus station for pick up. You can go to greyhound package express for a shipping quote. Put in the freight size of 38 x 16 x 23, weight of 50 pounds. The bus station is 1 hour each way from my house, so I usually go their on Wednesdays. Up for sale is an antique carpenter's tool chest. Makes a great storage/coffee table. The piece is on wheels. Has a lift up top, and has two side metal handles. Has its original old green paint. As you can see this piece shows lots of love and wear. It was a well used piece. nice vintage machinists tool box. Used condition. I picked up up from a nice union store. Drawers open a little tuff, on inside in photo you can see the hole, the 1 handle for front bottom is broke, 1 drawer color is different, no lock. Overall good shape for its age and whats its been through. Top portion is peeling a bit. 22' x 13' x 13' Questions please ask. Very heavy. Sold as is due to weight and age.

2 Vintage Iron Industrial Stanley Tool Chest Handles Drawer Cabinet Pulls Knobs I’m still listing some items from last week’s estate sale and auction. And I had wonderful luck at this weekend’s flea market- some really really unique items, you don’t want to miss! Be sure to check out the manymanymany old hardware sets that I am listing this weel- this one is an anomoly. As there are only two. But what they lack in number, the totally make up for rustic, vintage original charm! What I have are two older vintage(if not antique- they are old) door/drawer/cabinet/tool chest( pulls. They are marked in the center as being made by Stanley in the USA so who knows, maybe they belonged on an old tool chest originally- I don't know, but they'll be yours to do with what you want. Made of iron, they measure 3" wide by 3 1/2" tall at ... morethe back mounting plate, and have an inset handle that makes the front flush with the mounting plate in front. The inset area of the back is 2 1/4" by 2 1/2- so you know for your project- see photos 6,7 16& 17 for both pieces, at the backside, and what I'm talking about. Measuring from the front of the mounting plate, to the back of the handle inset, it is 1/2" deep. Each handle weighs an amazing 1/2 lb- these were made to last and have! The round looped handles swing up to just past a 90 degree angle. Both handles are in excellent solid and sturdy condition. They have a black finish- that shows barn level/quality( dirt and dust and could use a good cleaning- see my photos. The black finish is rustic, with wear and light surface rust where the metal is exposed- you see it more on the corners- see my close up in photo 8, but you can also see the surface rust in small spots all over- there are no sharp edges or eat through/holes- it's surface only. The finish is a lot less worn on the back side of the handles. You could of course refinish, or you could leave rustic as they are- the have the BEST rustic, primitive, industrial charm! Antique ca.1900 C.E.Jennings Two drawer Machinist Tool Chest
This is a ca.1900 antique C.E.Jennings& Co. two drawer machinist chest. There is a catalog sheet describing that this chest was made of chestnut. Some consider Jennings to be the original machinist chest maker. It is 21"x 13"x 10"high and weighs 16 lbs. It has all the original hardwear and the early hardwood drawer locking slide. The key has been lost. This chest has been refinished per the original and is in very good condition. The interior top compartment and the two drawers are lined with new dark green felt.
