About this material: Solid phenolic is a composite material made by applying heat and pressure to layers of kraft paper saturated with phenolic resin. The heat and pressure causes a chemical reaction that transforms the materials into a high-density thermosetting industrial plastic. The material is very dense with a phenolic core and colored formica surface on both sides. Physical Properties- Very low moisture absorption- Stable under changes in humidity and temperature changes. Scratch and cut resistant. Low friction Formica like surface on both sides- High density- ... moreResistant to marking or graffiti Cutting. Machining, and Fastening- Can be cut with woodworking tools using standard carbide tooth saw blades. Machines very well with router cutters leaving a smooth finish with not tear out or chipping. this is a piece of phenolic sheet that has been machined into something. it has some tapped holes near the smaller end and has a slot machined parallel to the slot. very few light scratches.

This material is a reminant from an industrial process. It has never been used but I list it as such due to the fact that you are not the first buyer. This means that you save $$$$$$ as the price is just a fraction of new material. The buy it now price is for one sheet per specified dimensions Buyer pays shipping cost About this material: Solid phenolic is a composite material made by applying heat and pressure to layers of kraft paper saturated with phenolic resin. The heat and pressure causes a chemical reaction that transforms the materials into a high-density thermosetting industrial plastic. The material is very dense with a phenolic core and colored formica surface on both sides. Physical Properties- Very low moisture absorption- Stable under changes in humidity and temperature changes. Scratch and cut resistant. Low friction Formica ... morelike surface on both sides- High density- Resistant to marking or graffiti Cutting. Machining, and Fastening- Can be cut with woodworking tools using standard carbide tooth saw blades. Machines very well with router cutters leaving a smooth finish with not tear out or chipping. Spiral carbide router bits work best. Can be drilled and tapped with standard tooling. Can be glued with standard two part epoxy. Can use regular woodworking screws in pre drilled holes. Self tapping screws also work well. Typical Uses- Signs and store fixtures- Excellent material for woodworking fixtures where density and stability are critical. Router tables.
