I didn't unspool the cable but I measured a circle and multiplied it by the number of layers I think it's 40 to 50 feet but can't swear to it. Cable appears to be close to 1/2" in diameter. Heavy Duty Gantry Crane (overhead hoist)
This overhead hoist was built for me by a metal fab company so I could lift the body of the frame of my car. It is all steel and very heavy duty. The dimensions are as follows; Overhead Cross Beam is 10 feet long. 12 inches tall, and 4 inches wide. The uprights are 10 feet tall and are 4 inches square beam 1/4 inch thick. The base I Beams are 8 Feet long, 8 1/2 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches wide. The trolley is 1 ton, with a 1 ton chain hoist. The assemby rolls on 4 casters that are 6 inches tall and has brakes. I added reinforcements in the upper corners that bolt to the cross beam and uprights. Also supported by 5/16 cable and large turnbuckles for even more support. This crane weighs approximately 1,000 lbs. Can be assembled in one hour with two people.

Vintage DL Auld Company. Columbus, Ohio hand winch or hoist. Patent# is 2586048, stock no. R89-R-90825. I couldn't find any info on it. The cable is about 4 feet long. I lifted a concrete block no problem. It must have had a special use but don't know. The hook and body are 22" long. It is stamped that it is rated for 2500 lbs.
