It is clean and neat looking. The paper in the front that tells about the tester is dated March 6, 1951. And that box is very interesting. Very heavy about 14 pounds.

This is for a Weston Electrical Instrument Corp D. C. Ammeter Model 45 patent date 1901. This was calibrated in October 27. 1919. I hooked up a battery and the meter registered a reading. This is in a heavy oak box without the leather handle. Clasp are in very good used shape. This is 8" by 8" by 4 1/2" and weighs 10 lbs 7 oz. It does have all the rubber grommets on the feet. There are a few small pieces of veneer missing or loose. Once screw cap is cracked. Please review photos and they are part of the description.

It looks to have been opened up at some time and something was wiped off of the center and lower right of the face. The age and origin is unknown to me. This is another estate item from my grandfathers collection of antique auto parts. It's possible that it may not be identified correctly or just don't know where it came from or what it goes to. The ammeter was used at Allied/Signal AiResearch labs before they bought out Honeywell and changed their name. You can still see the calibration stickers. The unit has definitely been used and shows normal wear. And the strap is drying out. It needs some cleaning. It does work and is also great for display. The light meter will be a non working unit. Unable to test it as I do not have the probes. This little guy needs TLC as he has adhesive from labels and a small area of paint overspray near the bottom.

A rare Westinghouse portable ammeter model PX-5. The meter is working but may need calibration There is a card showing calibration done in 1956. The brown bakelite case is dirty and gooey where the rubber feet melted with age. But it should clean easily and the case is whole, no cracks, chips or deep scratches. With a good cleaning it will shine as new. The meter and the panel are in excellent condition. Leather handle is gone but should be easy to replace. Antique or Vintage Weston Ammeter Model 301 Measures -30 to +30 Amps
This is a very nice. Very old"zero center" ammeter made by the Weston Electrical Instrument Company of Newark, NJ. The model number is 301; the serial number is 96883. The following is stamped on the face plate just below the upper rim: Pat. NOV. 6'88, APR. 29'90, FEB. 17'91, OCT. 4'98, July 16'01. The black painted metal case(I believe brass) has moderate surface abrasions as pictured but is in generally nice condition with no discernible dents or damage; the face plate(a silver or champagne tone metal) is in excellent condition; the glass is intact with no cracks or discernible scratching. There is minor internal debris. I don't have an easy way to test this. So it is being sold as is, however, the needle does move freely from side to side and their is a recalibration screw on the lower front. Approximate ... moredimensions are 2.75" wide x 1.25" deep not including the back bolts.

Hewlett Packard Microvoltmeter Ammeter Model 4304B
HEWLETT PACKARD MODEL 4304B MICROVOLT AMMETER This item is for a HP 4304B DC volt ammeter. It is very sensitive and can measure DC volts and currents down to the microvolt and nano-ampere ranges. The voltage ranges are from 1 mv to 300 volts DC. The current ranges are from 1 nA to 300 micro-amperes DC. I have checked the instrument out using simple volts and amps measurements and it works properly. The meter operates freely and the zero works as intended. According to the manual. It will operate on internal batteries if the optional 001 battery pack is installed. I removed one side panel but did not see the battery. There are only minor surface rubbings and other discoloration. An extra support has been added to the left side of the meter glass as seen in the photo. I copy of the manual will be included on a CD. This is a pretty sophisticated ... moreinstrument. And I believe it works fine. If it does not meet your satisfaction. You may return it and pay only postage. It will be well packed with a shipping weight of about 16 pounds using UPS ground. The package size will be about 10 x 12 x 14 inches. USA and PayPal only.
