Goodrich Tires First in Rubber By: Slayton Underhill& Pepsi Wartime Spy to Submarine By: Soglow Approximate Size: 9 3/4" x 13" 1 page. 2 sided) Slayton Underhill(1913-2002) Was the artist known as the"Master of the Hat" for advertisements featuring fedora-wearing models like Douglas Fairbanks and Bing Crosby. Born near Philadelphia. Underhill studied at Yale University before moving to New York in the 1940s to work as an illustrator. He later turned to expressionist art, and continued painting until just before he died. Underhill's early works appeared in the Saturday Evening Post. Redbook, Collier's and Life. Two of his portraits were chosen for covers of Time magazine. He also tried his hand at photography. The artist behind advertising campaigns for Viceroy cigarettes and Lincoln and Mercury ... morecars. Underhill earned the nickname"Master of the Hat" after a campaign for Stetson. Many of his models were people he knew. Including his wife, Barbara, who became known as"The Lincoln Girl. After many of the magazines he worked for folded. Hi. I save my old front tires without much wear when I replace a pair. So often I get a set that is kind of related- but more like cousins then identical twins. If you can live with that, marry them up like Jerry Lee Louis and enjoy some high end tires at training rubber prices. They still have lots of use left in them. I've included an identical pair of Michelin Pro 3 Race tires this time because the rear got most of its miles on a trainer and still has road life left in it. Just in case you want more. You also get a high end, high thread count tire sold under the no-name brand of Williams Ultralite Pro. For sale is a ZIPP 440 700c tubular 60mm deep carbon road bike wheelset. Front: This is the silver-ring carbon fiber hub that is sought after. These are not only great triathlon or time trial wheels. But I am told they make great cyclocross wheels, as well. It would look pretty great on a fixie or track bike, too. I had 404 stickers on here, but peeled them back off to reveal the vintage green zipp logo. Cover them up with some stickers if you want to fool people. I purchased the wheel about 4 years ago and replaced the hub bearings with new ZIPP bearings and had them professionally trued. Since then. I have only ridden them in races. Less than 300 miles since then. It is straight. The bearings are perfect and has the normal nicks and scratches from sitting around. Rear: I believe this is the last model year that they called them 440's. ... moreThis year had a toroidial aerodynamic shape unlike the early ones. These are not only great triathlon or time trial wheels. But I am told they make great cyclocross wheels, as well. It has 404 decals on it which can be easily removed. The hub has a carbon fiber body. I purchased the wheel about 4 years ago and rebuilt the hub with help from the guys at ZIPP with ZIPP parts and had it professionally trued. It got a new freehub body. Inner bushing, new bearings and new pawls. Since then, I have only ridden the wheel in races. Less than 300 miles since then. The previous owner dropped the chain and uglied up the spokes a little. My bike mechanic assured me it wasn't an issue and I have ridden them like that since I got it. It is straight. The hub and bearings are good and has the normal nicks and scratches for a wheel its age. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The tires are Zipp tangente tubular with zipp valve extenders. I do know exactly where it is from.The Sterling Hill Mine near Franklin NJ. It was used to haul minerals, you can see many of them on ebay from this mine. Exact age unknown but I believe it is between the 1920's and 1940's.please read the email I received below) Although everything I say about the Sterling Hill Mine is very accurate, it appears this cart was originally sold for any heavy use. That includes,rocks,garden,concrete,cement, and any heavy utility thing you can think of. Make no mistake about it's construction of steel and iron, it is very strong and weighs 200 lbs.
