It was Seiko's first to be offered with the intent of computer connectivity. No accesories or keyboard or terminal was included. In the early'80s. The public had a wide variety of computer architectures to choose from. The RC-1000 was compatible with several: the Apple II, II+ and IIe; the Commodore 64; IBM PC, PCjr, and IBM PC compatibles; NEC 8201; Tandy Color Computer, Model 1000, 1200, 2000 and TRS-80 Model I, III, 4 and 4p. Each watch shipped with a black Interconnecting Cable and a 5 1/4" floppy diskette or(data cassette) containing Data Transmission Software for one computer platform.
